亲爱的爸爸，

   我的信不会比开文写得长，也不会比开文写得好，但是，我也是用心写成的呢。

   嗯，自从你去中国生活以后，时间似乎变得如此的漫长。我始终记得，当我还是一个小小女孩的时候，我每天晚上都耐心等待你下班回家。你一回家，就会抱起我，把我高高地举过头顶抛向天空。每次当你回到家的时候，我感到从未有的安全。

   我记得,我永远是爸爸的“小棉袄”。我买过一件毛衣，上面就绣着这样几个字：“爸爸的小棉袄”，我常常把它穿在身上。

   当你决定去中国的时候，我确实感到内心的打击很大。我必须表现的坚强，因为我知道你只是暂时离开我们，并不是永远不回来。你常常回家看望我们，这就是我最需要的。尽管每次你回来，整天对我苦口婆心，用高标准严要求对待我，对我做过的错事还有我错误的选择咆哮生气，尽管我们父女俩有时候争吵得势不两立，无法容忍，你始终知道什么最适合我。

   我们有过不愉快的过去，但是我会让那些不愉快都过去，我正视现实，那就是：你是我的爸爸，没有人可以代替。妈妈，哥哥和我都感激你的心和我们在一起。无论你在世界上任何的角落，当我们需要你的时候，我们都会用最现代化的电信工具：视频、电脑和电话找到你。感谢高科技发展的今天，对吧？

   哈哈，就这样吧，祝你有一个快乐的父亲节！你是最好的，我爱你！

Dear  Dad,

    My letter is not going to be as long and well-written as Kevin’s; however，I'm still going to my heart into it. 

   So, it's been a long time now since you've been living in China. I still remember when I was a little girl, I would wait for you to come home from work every night and right when you'd come home, you would pick me up and throw me up into the air. When you'd come home from work each night, that was when I felt the most safe than ever. 

   I remember I was always Daddy's little girl. I even bought a sweatshirt that said "Daddy's Little Girl" on it, and I wore it quite often. 

   When you left to China, I guess it did hit me pretty hard. I stayed strong though, because I knew you were not going to be gone forever. You would still visit, and that's all I needed. Despite the times you would come home and lecture me all day, yell at my mistakes and bad choices, and when we would have our daughter-father fights with all the yelling and screaming, you still knew what was best for me. 

   We have had a rough past, but I still look past them all and realize reality: You are my dad and no one else can replace that. Mom, Kevin and I are all very thankful to have you with us。No matter where you are, we still have the webcam, computer, and telephone whenever we need you with us. Thank goodness for technology these days, eh?

    Haha, well，have a wonderful father's day! You're the best. I love you!

注：红花交待了作业，希望儿子女儿在父亲节这天写一篇关于父亲的作文。儿子认真去做，半个小时之内完成作业，写得真诚坦率。女儿贪玩不愿写，拖拖拉拉到临睡前才草草写完。我感到，她本应该写得更好，这篇实在是应付之作，我不满意。无论怎样，这两篇小文章都是他们的内心剖白，红花不愿多做评价。放上这篇，以示公平，留作纪念。
