终于回到家中。孩子们已经忘记了三天旅行的噩梦，只有我身心疲惫，长久沉浸在迷失的路上无法完全回家。儿子像平常一样，投入到联网的战役当中去，不亦乐乎。女儿泡着电话，和她的朋友们交流着劳工节三天的假期心得。


　　　我把孩子们叫到身边，告诉他们说，我们三人的圣地亚哥之旅，彼此都分享了不一样的旅行体会。我希望你们每一个人都写一篇游记，字数不限，今天交稿。


　　　儿子女儿本能地问：我们写了东西，是为了你的博客吗？我说：不是，是为了一份难忘的记录。也许你们现在并不明白它的意义，不过没有关系，自有明白的那一天。


　　　孩子们还算听话，每人坐回自己的座位，写下了两篇短小的《圣地亚哥游记》。各有特色，别有风趣。圣地亚哥之旅，在他们眼睛里，展现的就是一个快要逼疯的妈妈的许多可笑又愚蠢无知的行为。原来，他们乐在其中啊。


　　　我已经在我的文章里，分段把他们的文章附录在了我的文章下面。现在我把他们的全文贴出来，如果有人感兴趣英文的写作，可以阅读欣赏。

吾儿开文的短文：《我在圣地亚哥的经验》

 

 My Experience In San Diego

 

I went to San Diego during the Labor Day break. I thought it was going to be fun but I felt something was not right when my mom told us. It felt weird because she told us just a week before we would go, and it was so sporadic and sudden.

　　　Turns out my feeling was right, the trip didn’t go so well.

　　　So first thing in the morning, we wake up and go to my mom’s friend’s house. From there we go to the airport. Guess what? We miss our flight. We didn’t think it was that bad of a deal, so we just went on the next flight. When we got there, we went to the Hertz rental facility. Oh my gosh it was incredibly slow. The service and lines were moving at a snail’s speed. It was horrible. We didn’t even get the car we wanted.

My mom was already getting stressed. She couldn’t even find herself out of the Hertz facility. As we drove to our hotel, the streets looked more and more depressing. Homeless people wandered around and it was very gloomy.

We signed into our hotel, which wasn’t too bad. Dinner came and we went to a pizza hut around the corner. We almost stepped in barf which was disgusting. We ate quickly because the neighborhood was scary. We first thought we were going to walk, but then we decided not to. Our room was nice and our next door neighbors were so loud. We could hardly sleep.

The next day we went to SeaWorld. It was a pretty good day despite the blaring sun. We saw many shows and penguins. Plus we went on a helicopter simulator that showed us polar bears and gave us a tour of the arctic. The shows were very funny and well acted. They brought up a guy from the audience, but he was an actor with the group! I totally did not see that coming. Seals and otters were in shows and I petted a manta ray and I picked up a starfish.

 

         

We went home and the first thing we were thinking was food. I was so tired by the time we got back to the hotel, that I took a nap. Seeing that I was sleeping, my sister and my mom went to Subway to get dinner. She got lost on the way to Subway and on the way back.

My mom was so stressed and scared by the time she got to the hotel. Plus when we went to sleep, the loud people were even more loud this time. We called front desk and told them to be quiet and they did, thank goodness.

 

　　　On Monday, we finally got to go home. First thing that happened was that we couldn’t find the Hertz Facility. We punched in a address to our GPS but it led us to this Naval Base. We drop another 10 miles to the facility. Returning the car was smooth and getting on the flight was good. My mom, sister, and I were finally back home, and we were so happy about it.

We didn’t want to go back to San Diego again.

 

           

 

我家女儿的短文：《我的圣地亚哥之旅》

 

My trip to San Diego was very interesting. At first my mom was so excited, she was packing up everything so fast, in a happy mood. We drove to her friend’s house and decided to leave our car there and go to the airport with them.

As we got to the airport, my mom, my brother, and I stood in line for about 30 minutes, waiting and waiting. When we finally got in the front, we had already missed our flight! Waiting in line for that long was all useless and my mom had to check in AGAIN. Kevin and I left first and we were waiting for the next flight which was in an hour. It was early in the morning so we were really tired. Finally my mom came and got out tickets ready for the next flight and we were excited to get onto the plane and FINALLY get to San Diego.

After the flight, we got onto the airport getting together and ready to enter the new city.

First we went to rent a car. When we got it my mom didn’t even know how to drive it. She was driving slow, then fast, and then slow, then fast, and it was getting really annoying.

When she learned how to drive normally, we went to go eat some food because we were all starving. We went to this really nice place with food, music, little shops, etc. The weather was nice and we had an okay time.

After, we started driving to our hotel. I expected it to be fancy like the other hotels around us but it was so bad! The elevator was slow, and it would always get stuck on a floor. When we got into our rooms we were so glad to be able to relax. We showered, and then took a nap.

We wanted to see how San Diego was at night, with all the lights and big buildings. We took a walk outside but we couldn’t even be outside for over 5 minutes! Right when we started walking around, someone almost threw up on us. A guy and his friends were sticking their heads out their windows from a hotel building and they were yelling, screaming, and DRUNK. We tried to avoid walking under them but then as we were walking we smelled the most disgusting smell in the world. It was their barf everywhere on the ground and we almost stepped on it!

We finally decided to take the car to take a look around this city. As we were driving we got a little hungry so we stopped by Pizza Hut and ate there. The tables weren’t clean, and there were dirty people all over the streets. We ate all of it and went back to our motel.

 

We woke up the next day getting ready to go to SEA WORLD! We were going to see dolphins, sharks, whales, fish, turtles, penguins, etc. When we got there we had a lot of fun. We were watching a show of whales jumping out the water and I said to my mom “MOM TAKE OUT YOUR CAMERA THIS IS SO COOL!” and she took it out and guess what? THERE WERE NO MORE BATTERIES. My mom was so mad she wanted to go back to the hotel and charge it and then come back again. Me and Kevin were so mad at our mom’s stupidity, but we didn’t need the camera, even if we were going to see things we don’t usually see. It was still very fun.

 

When we got home we were so hungry so we stopped at our hotel for a bit, took a shower and a nap and went out to eat. Kevin was still a little tired to he stayed in the hotel and was fast asleep. Without Kevin, we didn’t know how to use the GPS. But my mom and I thought maybe if we work together we will find a nice place to bring back food. Me and my mom were driving around looking for any good place to eat at. Finally a restaurant caught my eye. “MOM, LOOK ITS SUBWAY!! LET’S EAT SUBWAY PLEASE!” She said yes so we were looking for a place to park and we couldn’t find any place. We were looking EVERYWHERE. Finally we found a parking lot area, we entered and found out we had to pay money. We were like “that sucks!” but we were so hungry we didn’t care anymore.

We got out our car and walked toward subway. Suddenly we were both very confused.

“Where is subway again??” Uh oh we don’t remember.

We walked right, left, forward, to 7^th avenue to 5^th avenue to B Street and we were getting so confused. I thought I knew where we were going to I said “Mom we go forward I know this for sure” and we started walking and walking and walking.

“Emily are you sure this is the right way?” and I said “YEAH I’m positive” So, we listened to me and started walking and walking.

“Emily..are you POSITIVE it’s this way?” My mom said.

“Of course, DUH” I said. We kept walking and walking.

“Emily Where are we?? Are you sure it’s this way?” and I said “Mom I think I know where subway is jeez just follow me!”

Then, she said “NO now we are turning right! I don’t think we’re going the right way” I listened to her and we started walking her way. We went all the way back and FINALLY we found Subway!

 

We ordered 2 sandwiches and a large soda. We tried to put the cap onto it but it didn’t fit. And we were trying to put on a cap that would fit for like 30 minutes and finally the man that worked there said “you guys are using the wrong cap” WOW WE ARE STUPID

Ｓo then we got out and started walking to the parking lot. We started driving and totally forgot where our hotel was. We used the GPS to try and figure it out but my mom was really stupid and clicked on “home” and it led us all the way back to Sunnyvale. Sooner or later we found out we were going the wrong way because we had to go onto the highway. We looked for our hotel EVERYWHERE and couldn’t find it. 30 minutes past by, STILL trying to look for it and then we decided to just call Kevin. When we did he told us what to do and we got back safely. 

 

 

　　We went to sleep and relaxed for our next day to go back home. When we woke up we showered and packed up everything really fast. We started driving but then lost our way to the car rental place. We finally found it on the GPS but then we drove and we were going the wrong way! Kevin picked the wrong location.

We were so confused and my mom was so stressed so we called the company and asked them where the location was. It took a long time for them to tell us but we finally found it and returned the car. We got into the big car that drove us to the airport. Finally the plane ride was the best part of this whole trip, knowing that we were finally about to go home.

We arrived home at last and the first thing we said when we got back was “I’M NEVER GOING TO SAN DIEGO AGAIN!”
