The Kentucky Lottery has implemented a scorecard system to evaluate retailers as a means to help them understand the tools available to increase their sales and revenues, increasing engagement and motivation to adopt industry best practices. The system, called Score – Sell – Succeed, was modeled after one used by Camelot for the U.K. National Lottery.
Last summer, former Vice President of Sales Bob Little contracted with Camelot Global Services to evaluate Kentucky’s sales team. As part of the process, Camelot described some of the retail tools it uses in the U.K. At the time, Pete Ramsey was the manager of the Louisville region, and he was intrigued by Camelot’s scorecard system called Site+Stock+Sell. It was an evaluation tool where stores were measured on play center, dispenser and vending placement (Site), scratch-off inventory (Stock) and POS placement (Sell).
