Dear friends and lottery colleagues,
Welcome to the official website for the WLA/NASPL World Lottery Summit 2012 (WLS 2012), which will be held in Montreal, Canada, from September 9 to 12, 2012. The WLS 2012 brings two separate conventions, the 2012 WLA Convention and Trade Show and the NASPL 2012 Conference and Trade Show, together under the one roof. By joining forces, the WLA and NASPL aim to deliver a world lottery summit of unparalleled depth and quality to the members and contributors of both associations.
Montreal is Canada's second largest city and a major center of business, industry, and innovation in North America. Consistently rated as one of the world's most livable cities, bilingual (French-English) Montreal is one of the most cosmopolitan and sophisticated cities on the North American continent. Boasting a vibrant year-round cultural and arts scene, abundant parkland and green spaces for sports and recreation, and an outstanding reputation for gourmet dining and hospitality, Montreal is a city with something for everyone.
The convention venue for WLS 2012 is the Palais des congrès de Montréal (PCM). Strategically located in the heart of the city, at the nexus of the business district, the international quarter, and Chinatown and Old Montreal, the PCM provides an ideal event facility within a festive and creative environment. The venue offers spacious and modern conference and trade show facilities, all in a generous, naturally lit environment that exquisitely combines form with function. Operated by an outstanding team of professionals and with an unrivalled reputation for adaptability and superior services, the PCM was one of 27 finalists that competed for the 2010 APIC APEX Award as the world's best congress centre.
WLS 2012 will combine a top-quality business program and a comprehensive trade show with a wide range of networking and social events. The summit's business program will equip delegates with the insight and knowledge needed to prosper in these challenging times, the trade show will showcase the latest developments in lottery-related products and services, while the social program will offer unique opportunities both for networking and for relaxation. The summit will also include the WLA general biennial meeting and regional association meetings.
The theme for WLS 2012 is "a world of opportunities à la Montréal", reflecting the world of opportunities arising from the rapid pace of change in the lottery industry, and the world of opportunities that awaits you in multicultural, cosmopolitan Montreal.
