A resident of Normandy won more than 162 million euro in Euro Millions on Tuesday, breaking the European lottery winning record across France.
To cash the money, the winner has to submit the winning ticket within 60 days.
The win put the ticket holder on the 250th position on the list of France's richest people.
The previous record was set in September 2009, when fifteen players won and split 100 million euro.
Euro Millions’ absolute record belongs to a Scottish couple who won 185 million euro in July this year.
200 million people in nine European countries play Euro Millions.

The main balls drawn were 9, 28, 30, 32 and 49 along with the Lucky Stars of 9 and 10. The number 28 made its second consecutive appearance in the EuroMillions draw following Friday’s EuroMillions results – however, as the main number to have been least often picked with only 30 appearances in total, it made a nice change to have been one of the winning numbers for this huge jackpot.
