The
Georgia Lottery Corporation Achieves NSI Verification
Continues Quality Assurance Excellence
The Georgia Lottery Corporation recently achieved the status of “Verified” within the NASPL Standards Initiative (NSI), under the Best Practice Quality Assurance of Product Development in the Lottery Industry: Requirements Definition.
The Quality Assurance best practice is intended to provide both lotteries and vendors with simple, documented, and approved methods for building quality into the product development and testing processes. In the long run, these practices result in greater efficiencies while reducing cost and risk. This verification provides an acknowledged set of quality assurance processes and procedures that will permit the Georgia Lottery Corporation and its gaming system vendor(s) to follow an approved and repeatable method when defining, developing, and accepting software products for installation at the lottery.
“I want to commend the Georgia Lottery Corporation and their vendor partner GTECH,” said NSI Project Manager Andrew White. “You can see through their work that both organizations have committed to using the best practice in all facets of their day-to-day operations. The benefits and efficiencies are clearly present.”
“GTECH has demonstrated a
consistent approach through all of the jurisdictions they work with
especially in the lotteries that have achieved the status of
Verified,” said NASPL Executive Director David Gale. “We are
starting to see quality work across the North American lottery
market and this is an example of how NSI works.”
The Georgia lottery’s growth is
a result of hard work and sound business practices like the most
recent Quality Assurance Verification. The end result has meant
more educational opportunities for a growing number of Georgians.
Over 2.4 million students have benefited from the lottery-funded
HOPE Scholarship and Pre-K Programs.
