The Illinois Lottery, like many states, has sought to develop a product to incentivize instant game players to try our online games. Pollard Bank Note recently presented a concept that the Illinois Lottery used to develop an exciting solution to growing our cross-selling efforts. With Pollard’s assistance, as well as that of our gaming system provider Gtech, the wheels were put in motion to develop our Mega Power instant game. With our dynamic branding campaign for Mega Millions and Powerball already promoting these traditional online games, this instant game launch is designed to keep the buzz going with our players and retailers!

The Mega-Power instant product costs $5 and launches on September 8, 2010. This game will introduce our Mega Millions and Powerball games to instant game players by awarding approximately 368,000 free quick pick tickets as a bonus on multiple levels of our low-tier prizes. This will encourage our players who like instant games to try their hand at one of our two largest jackpot games at no additional cost. The instant prizes are not so small either. The Mega Power instant game offers up to $100,000 as the top prize.

There are two scenes for this game. The first scene features Powerball and the second scene features Mega Millions. Like the regular online games, the players are given six balls they have to match, including five “regular” balls and one Powerball/ Megaball. This game is fi lled with additional bonus features, too. In addition to the quick pick bonuses, they can multiply their prize with the Megaplier and Power Play Bonus spaces or win an extra $25 by matching the Powerball/ Megaball.
