Florida Lottery Launches New Scratch-Off Games
FLORIDA LOTTERY LAUNCHES NEW SCRATCH-OFF GAMES:
THE GREEN HORNET™, FLORIDA MILLIONAIRES CLUB AND LUCKY STARS
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery's newest Scratch-Off games, THE GREEN HORNET™, FLORIDA MILLIONAIRES CLUB and LUCKY STARS, go on sale today. Players may begin purchasing these tickets at Lottery retailers statewide. All Lottery retailers are expected to have these new tickets in stock and available for purchase within 48 hours.
Just in time for the action comedy to hit the big screen on January 14, THE GREEN HORNET $5 Scratch-Off game is creating quite a buzz as it combines the adventure of playing Florida Lottery Scratch-Off games with the excitement of "The Green Hornet" movie. The Scratch-Off game offers more than $17.7 million in prizes, including four top prizes of $200,000, and more than 1.2 million prizes ranging from $5 to $50,000. The overall odds of winning are one in 4.04.
The $20 Scratch-Off game, FLORIDA MILLIONAIRES CLUB, offers more than $151 million in prizes, including two top prizes of $3 million and more than 3.4 million prizes ranging from $20 to $1 million. The overall odds of winning are one in 2.95.
The $1 Scratch-Off game, LUCKY STARS, offers $7.5 million in prizes, including 50 top prizes of $5,000 and more than 2.4 million prizes ranging from $1 to $200. The overall odds of winning are one in 4.88.
The Florida Lottery offers approximately 50 Scratch-Off games at any given time through instant ticket vending machines or on-counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, making up approximately 53 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $396 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2009-10.
Florida voters, by a two-to-one margin, approved a constitutional amendment in 1986 authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education. Today, Floridians continue to show their support by purchasing nearly $4 billion in Lottery products per year, resulting in contributions of more than $21 billion to the EETF since 1988.
