Française des Jeux. Adios Rapido, bonjour Amigo

 Amigo: c'est le nouveau jeu de tirage de la Française des Jeux (FDJ) lancé hier et amené à remplacer d'ici à novembre2011 le Rapido, son produit le plus rentable. Pour l'instant, seules quatre régions (Nord, Est, Aquitaine, Midi-Pyrénées) sont concernées. En lui-même, Amigo n'est pas révolutionnaire. Pour deux euros, le joueur devra cocher neuf numéros sur une grille principale de 45numéros et un numéro sur la grille «jackpot» (cinq numéros). En jeu? Une cagnotte de 250.000euros minimum. Chaque journée de tirage d'Amigo compte 227 tirages (de 5h à 23h55), soit un tirage toutes les cinq minutes, contre deux minutes et demi actuellement pour le Rapido. Ce qui est nouveau, c'est ce qui se passe entre les tirages. Amigo est intégré dans «Amigo live», un programme de divertissement et d'informations. Le tout entrecoupé de messages dits «responsables» («Ne vous endettez pas pour jouer»).

«Clone» du Rapido

Un argumentaire qui ne convainc pas le sociologue Jean-Pierre Martignon et qui n'hésite pas à parler de «clone» du Rapido. «Amigo reste un jeu à haute fréquence avec 227 tirages/jour» et sera «peut-être autant addictif», prédit ce spécialiste. Quoi qu'il en soit. L'enjeu est de taille pour la FDJ. S'il reste le premier jeu avec un chiffre d'affaires de 1,702milliard d'euros en 2009 devant le Loto (1,618milliard), le Rapido est tout de même en perte de vitesse (- 30% depuis 2007).

La Française des Jeux launches a new draw-based game, AMIGO  

On October 4th, La Française des Jeux (FDJ) launched a new game, AMIGO, based on conviviality and entertainment. This new game concept is the result of the cooperation between FDJ employees, retailers, players and non-players, sales representatives, sociologists and experts in responsible gaming.

The goal was to launch a funny and friendly game, enabling the player to live a new gaming experience.

AMIGO is a number game with a draw every 5 minutes. The new game will be progressively implemented in the whole FDJ retail network in order to gradually replace Rapido game.

Amigo Live: a POS entertainment channel

Amigo Live is a channel locally anchored and designed for bars. The AMIGO game program will be broadcast on a digital screen through “Amigo Live”, an entertainment channel. Between each draw there will be regularly renewed information: short animations such as quiz games, information about the POS (opening hours, today’s menu…) and local information (weather, cultural days out…), humorous programs and practical advice.

AMIGO: how to play?

The player selects 1 number out of 5 in each of the 9 columns and 1 “jackpot number” out of 5.

The minimum stake per playslip is €2 and the maximum is €50.

The player wins if he has at least 3 correct numbers and his winnings are multiplied by a drawn multiplier (x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10).

The player can win a minimum jackpot of €250,000. If the jackpot is not won, it rolls over until the following draw. It grows by 3% of stakes at each draw. The jackpot is systematically won when it reaches 1 million euros and is shared among the second prize level winners if the winning combination in the 1st level has not been found.

AMIGO: communication and deployment

An advertising campaign (radio, press, billboards) with the tagline “Amigo, what about playing together?” will be implemented from October 4th to October 20th and from November 16th to November 22th.

At first, AMIGO has been deployed in 2,000 POS in 4 regions (Alsace, Nord, Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées). It should be launched nationwide in November 2011.
