先说明一下，美帝有两所中文翻译为“华盛顿大学”的准一流名校：
1）Washington Univ @St.Louis：这是一所位于密苏里州圣路易斯的大学，私立大学，很不错的，算得上一所准一流名牌；
2）Univ of Washington @Seattle: 这是一所位于华盛顿州西雅图的大学，公立大学，也是很不错的，美帝公立大学中从联邦政府得到的科研经费最高的大学。
这里是指后者。华盛顿州是为了纪念第一任总统乔治*华盛顿而命名的，尽管华盛顿州和乔治*华盛顿本人八杆子打不到一块儿。

这两所大学在美帝的地位，大致相当于上海朝阳老家之同济大学或者华东师大在中国的地位吧。

樱花/樱桃树。这些樱花树大约有 200 余株，据说是从乔治*华盛顿的故乡“弗农山庄”（Mt. Vernon) 移栽过来的，这些樱花树以这一带最为集中。
