John的语言训练课，上到现在，竟也有半年了，评估师今天来给他做了非常详细的分析，评估师是第一次来面试时两位中的一位，对孩子很有耐心，态度热情。虽然三宝吵吵闹闹，叫声不断，她自始自终都表现得乐在其中，着实难得。

比起第一次面试，John自然进步不少，所有分数都有明显的上升，评估师依然安慰我，说还有半年辅导的时间，说还有很多上升的空间。她主动提出再多安排一个老师给John，专门针对他的口头训练。现在的老师Jennifer是全面教导，不仅教他讲话，也教他认字认颜色做游戏。评估师说，未来我们搬家，也不会影响，若现在的老师不覆盖新的地区，会有其他老师接上。

虽然John仍然不如同龄的小孩那么能说会道，但自从接受语言训练开始，他每天都有进步。我也并不担心，我们家的男孩开口都晚，我的小表哥到实足四岁才开始讲第一句话。John现在虽然话不多不长，但他明白大人的意思，也不过就是早晚的问题吧。

评估师带来了Jennifer对John这半年来上课的报告，三页纸，用表格说明得很清楚，还专门写了一段对John的描述，我等会儿抄在最后，很有趣。

这个礼拜老师Jennifer请假，度蜜月去了，要不是她今天打电话来告诉，说上个周末结婚，这个礼拜度蜜月，我们还不知道呢。我只以为她一定早已结婚有小孩了，看她对John很有耐心的样子。虽然一个礼拜见两次面，但我们之间无非是些客套问候，美国人不作兴问人家的私事，工作啊，婚姻啊，工资啊都是禁忌问题。不像我们中国人，和你唠一会儿家常，祖宗八代都知道了。中国人喜欢问：结婚了吗？有对象了吗？在哪里工作？这些在美国都不能随便问，也算是入乡随俗，对我这种八卦分子，无疑也是项新的挑战。

当然，若是相熟的朋友，揭开面纱，骨子里都爱八卦，哪国人都不例外。

还有不同的是，美国人到你家里来，没被邀请，他们不会去除了客厅以外的地方，不像我们中国人，到人家家里每个房间总一定要参观参观的。如果你问他们要不要吃点什么，他们回答“OK”表示好的，若回答是“I'm OK”，则表示不需要。多数时候，他们会说“I'm OK”，好像Jennifer，来上课半年了，也没用过我们家的洗手间。

下面是Jennifer对John这些日子来的报告：

John is a shy but happy and playful 30 month old little boy. John was referred by ****** Center. John was referred to ***** Service, Inc. due to a Language Delay. John receives services with his teacher twice per week for one hour at his residence in ***. John's parents are very sweet and pleasant to be around. John and his teacher have a great relationship. He is always excited to see her. When she arrives John starts jumping up and down. Recently John was inside his house upstairs looking out the window for his teacher. When he saw her walk up the driveway, he yelled down to her "hi, Jennifer." John is using two-word sentences more often but still needs help expanding those to three word sentences; he'll use them when imitating his teacher. John responds appropriately to request regarding location, such as "Can you get the book behind you" and "put the ball under the cup." John's teacher will take little dog figurines and sing "five little doggies jumping on the bed one fell off and bumped his head. Mama called the doctor and the doctor said no more doggies jumping on the bed." John is now trying to sing along with her and does the actions to the song. He really enjoys it when his teacher starts singing that. John and his teacher also like to balance on one foot while singing songs such as "Old Mc Donald." Little by little John's language skills are improving and his teacher and parents are very pround.

John has been without medical complications this past quarter and mom reports he is currently up to date on his immunizations. John is feeding himself solid foods such as meat, vegetables, fruit, noodles etc. He is also drinking liquids such as milk, water and juice out of a cup.....
