I went to family doctor to have my regular blood test last Saturday. When the nurse shot the needle in my right arm, there was a sharp pain, like electrical shock, from the injection spot running down the inside forearm all the way to my fingers, and the fingers were then in numbness.

Was my right arm going to be disabled by this blood test? I thought. But I didn’t really take it seriously, and I didn’t say anything, not even a frown or scream a bit, because it was not too bad, and I could manage.

It was always that same nurse who took my blood test, and it had never happened before. Not that I’d ever heard such a thing. After I came home, I did a quick Google search on my cell phone, and there it was, so many people saying they had experienced exactly the same problem, only their situation sound more severe. And I did not get any answer to the problem though, only unfortunate people’ yearning for an answer.

I searched in Chinese, and no surprise got the same complains. So it happens everywhere, just bad luck. And also got something like B vitamins nurse your nerves, so you may want to take some vitamin B supplement, etc. and then I went back to English search again, because English websites usually provide more authorized and reliable explanations and solutions to health problems than Chinese websites do. Surprisingly I didn’t get any luck on that. Only complains, and no answers. This is weird and abnormal, for you never get disappointed by Google, isn’t it?  As for B vitamins, it says in English sites that they are essential to nerves, but no information about taking them after nerve damage. I suppose my is just a minor injury, and didn’t even bother to get any remedies, such as B vitamin supplement. But it still is a little concern.

Fingers were all better the second day, but right forearm still in pain when in certain position or stretching. And top clothes with tight sleeves are also a problem, especially when try to roll the sleeves up off elbow. It causes the same sharp and shocking pain. I’ve tried to avoid any these kinds of clothes.

Five days passed now, and it’s not getting much better. Hopefully it will be cured by itself after another few days as people had said.

Next time, I will just have to have my left arm to suffer the needle. Because you never know, in case something happened, right arm is more important than left one.
