2014年9月26日上午9点，在焦作市太极体育中心太极馆举行了河南省第十二届省运会篮球青少年组（新乡-开封）比赛，最终新乡队战胜了开封队。
    本届省运会青少年竞技组篮球比赛分为男子甲组、乙组和女子甲组、乙组，采用单循环制比赛赛制。计分方法为胜一场得2分，负一场得1分，弃权得0分，积分多者名次列前。如遇两队积分相等，按两队相互比赛的胜负决定名次；如遇三队或三队以上的积分相等，则以相互比赛的得失分率（得分之和除以失分之和）决定名次；如再相等，以整个循环赛的得失分率决定名次。
