今天，《温哥华太阳报》读者来信栏目刊登了一篇针对昨天头版文章(见上图所示）（《Chinese put a whole new face on fakery with lip-synching cutie（中国人用假唱的美人儿摆出了一个新形象）》）的读者来信。  

需要说明的是，加拿大英文媒体针对中国的主流声音就是批评和贬低，与此相反的声音是不能当作正式文章发表的，只能登在读者来信栏目。

这位读者给《温哥华太阳报》编辑的来信是这样写的：

I think many of us are getting a little weary of the criticism of the Beijing Olympics.  This vitriolic attack by Cam Cole on anything Chinese just about did it for me.  Is there an issue he did not raise? China’s reputation was doomed from the beginning.  We dragged all kinds of issues into the Olympics – human rights, Tibet, air quality, Burma, Taiwan, ad nauseum.  China could do nothing right.  We knew as soon as it was awarded this year’s Olympics that the criticism of its policies would be relentless.（我想我们很多人都已经厌倦了对北京奥运会的批评。Cam Cole对中国人所做的所有事情的刻薄攻击就令我反感。他还有没有想到的问题吗？中国的名声是注定了的。我们把所有的事情-人权、西藏、空气质量、缅甸、台湾等等都扯进了奥运，中国做什么都是不对的。我们从一开始将这一年的奥运会授权给中国举办时就知道了这一点，那就是，对其政策的批评将是无情的。)

The opening Ceremonies were spectacular, the events well organized and fun to watch.  Not good enough. (奥运会的开幕式是引人入胜的，组织有序，很有看头，但并不十全十美。)

Every single move by China is watched and scrutinized by the western media who, as we know, epitomize fine living and who are prone to take the moral high ground on all issues, warranted or not.(中国的每一个举动都被西方媒体关注着，我们知道，这些媒体总是以优越的生活自居，站在所有问题的道德的高度，不管理由是否充分。)

For the sake of the athletes, could we not just put aside our poison pens and enjoy the Games? (为了运动员，我们能否放下我们恶毒的笔来享受一下奥林匹克运动会呢？)
