既然如此,放弃一条吉凶未卜的路,该算不得糊涂。谁能预料它引领的方向,谁能确保它一路通畅?何况,你看那另一条,生长着茂盛的青草,似乎在殷殷企盼着行者的来到。光阴匆匆,时不待我,怎能路上犹豫不决,徘徊踟蹰?那会耽搁我的行程。转念我又想起,以前,这两条路一定都曾被众人走过多次,要说留下的足迹究竟哪条路上多,哪条少,怎么可以计数?相差能有几多?也许当时,两条路同样的热闹,哪里有什么青睐与否,是非厚薄?

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

黄叶树林中岔开两条路,
可惜我不能两条都走。
我一个旅人久久地驻足,
极目去寻一条的尽头,
它转了弯没入灌木深处。
当然我选择另外一条路,
因为这似乎更加合理,
那里满是青草盼人光顾。
相比以前人们的足迹,
哪条人多实在没有分殊。
清晨两路同有落叶遮掩,
叶子尚未遭太多踩践。
想留第一条路来日再选,
可此路彼路条条相连,
一经此去实在难以回转。
多年之后某地回忆当初,
讲起此事我会轻声叹:
当年面对林中的两条路,
我把那条少人走的拣,
所有的一切皆由此而铸。
