当我在电脑上用智能ABC输入法输入“本命”一词的拼音时，首先跳出来的却是“奔命”一词。真是智能！他或者叫她，一下就把我的命运定格了。

 

就要到第四个本命年——48岁了。现在我们这轮本命的人奔命的动力越来越不足，甚至很少为“张三发财了”“李四升官了”那样的问题耿耿于怀。而现在，常常听到的却是，“张三死了”“李四得癌症了”这些同年龄人的坏消息，惶恐之余，就不能不想自己的终点了。老实说，这个年纪的人，谁也不知道谁后面的路是八百米还是一万米，没准儿刚一迈腿就没了——比赛结束，您到站了，别再奔命了。如果您想说我还有力气，想接着跑，那也是白搭，这可没有咱们这里的干部退休年龄级别的差别，即使你说你对人民特重要，也没用。用句通俗的北京话说，叫“玩儿完了”。

 

孔子把这个年龄段叫“知天命”。说得真好。以前没想过“命”的问题，就想着“而立”、“而立”、再“而立”了，整个就是一“奔命”。现在该歇歇了，想想自己了。于是，我们开始准备“后事”，开始“捞钱”了，开始关怀自己享受了。在日本，50岁以后的人有相当一部分成了“望窗族”，就是也熬到了有自己的办公室的年龄，没人再盯着自己了，于是放松一下，可以整天站在办公室的窗户前看下面的行人了。 

 

“知天命”，耶稣知道得最早，但他没活到“知天命”的年纪。孔子是活过了这个年纪，但还是奔命——干明知干不成的事。这却让我怀疑起他的“知天命”了。当然，孔子晚年干的事是有“知天命”的意思的——给后人留点东西。

 

但咱毕竟是俗人，使命再大也没他们大。于是，就想到自己的孩子。现在，养一个独生子的费劲，是没有真正经历过的人无法想像的。学习好，有学习之外的麻烦；学习不好，就更要命了。反正，这是个问题，是个大问题。鲁迅当年呐喊“救救孩子”，那是因为怕孩子变笨；我现在也在考虑救救孩子，是因为中国的孩子是全世界最累的，也是相当茫然的，就知道从四个空里选一个正确的可以将来上清华北大。其中百分之十几的能符合要求，另百分之八十几的就是陪别人玩儿，孩子们的状况基本对应成人社会的贫富分化。

 

其弊病的严重性，谁都知道。如何改变的办法，也有，——像发达国家的小孩那样的教育方法就行，至少教育官僚们对此是特别清楚的，——现在的政府官员可不像改革初期那么“土”了，那时还要向专家请教外国经验，他们现在到国外考察应该是如旅平地了吧，不至于连常识都不明白吧。

 

到了这个年纪，我当然明白鲁迅他弟弟周作人讲的道理：第一句话不让说；第二句话，说了也没用。但是我只想和朋友一起分享一首歌。我想，听过这首歌的人肯定会有一些变化的——别为了钱和官往绝里做事，特别是对孩子们。这首歌，就是迈克尔·杰克逊的《拯救世界》。
