1. Learn the new vocabulary:  

was, did, went, visit, test, stay, have, do some reading, practice regular, irregular

2. Target language:

What did you do last weekend? I played soccer/We went to the beach.

What did he do last weekend? He played tennis.

What did they do last weekend? They visited the library.

3. Master the past forms of the regular and irregular verbs.

4. Learn to talk about recent past events.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1. 导学引疑   class work

1）Talk about the activities:

What do you usually do on weekend?

   I usually …on weekend.

2） Teacher asks students: “What did you do last weekend?” Help the students to answer the question with the past tense. For example: I cleaned my room/ washed the clothes/played basketball/went to the movies…

Step2. 自学质疑   work by oneself

Have the students look at something about the grammar on page 100&102.At the same time; find out the difficult things and something Ss can not understand.

Step3.互学释疑 pair work & group work

1.      Work in pairs, ask the question. And try to answer with complete sentences. Then practice asking and answering the conversation.

2.      Explain the grammar and the things Ss can’t understand.

3.      1c & 2c Practice the dialogue more.
