1. Learn the ways to learn English.

2. Discuss how to improve English yourself.

3. Encourage students to try their best to learn English

1. Talk about the ways to learn English.

2. New words and phrases:

two years ago, look it/them up, enjoy oneself, be afraid to do sth.

Make mistakes... and so on.

Teaching Difficult Points:

Let the students think and be creative.

Teaching Preparation: pictures

Teaching Aids: audiotape, flashcards, pictures

Teaching Procedure:

修改与批注（二次备课）

Step1. Let the students talk about something about learning

English. What do they know about English? If they know, let them say their details.

Step2. Ask the students to talk about the picture in the text. What mistake does Teresa make?

Step3. Let’s listen to the tape and answer the following questions:

1. What grade is Teresa in?

2. What language does she speak at home?

3. What does she often read?

4. When does she watch English movies?

Step4. . Read the text and check the answers. Then let the students read it loudly in class. After a while, ask the students read the text in roles.

Step5.Work in groups. How do your classmates learn English?

Interview them.

Step6. Ask some students to make sentences with the following phrases:

look it/them up, enjoy oneself, be afraid to do sth.

Make mistakes.

Present your sentences to the class.

Step7. Homework

1. Finish off the activity book.

2. Go on the next reading in the student book.
