Unit 3 life in the future
The 5th period
Teaching Aims:
Improve the students’ writing & speaking
skills.
Difficult and Important Points:
1)Writing & “Peer response”
2)How to write a good composition in the limited time.(Ss are
allowed to gather information about their composition
beforehand.)
Teaching Methods:
Use the class activity “Peer response” to motivate the Ss writing
interest, which can help them learn from each other.
Teaching Procedures:
Writing task
Write a report to the company that built Saturation City
You are expected to design:
Who has the right to go to the education part?
When will the education part be open to the people?
Where will the education part be built?
What kind of service will you provide?
What problem will you come across?
How will you solve the problem?
Go back and look at the passage “ Rising to challenge”
Paragraph 1: explains why the report is being written and set out
the four ideas to be discussed
Paragraph 2-5: explain ideas 1-4, one in each paragraph and give
examples
Paragraph 6 finishes the report with information on how to find out
more

Paragraph 2&3: Entertainment or Sports
Paragraph 4:
Style of writing: formal
Use complete sentences and correct grammar
Don’t use any short phrases or dialogues
Check it over
Show your composition to your partner, ask him/her for
advice:
Is it clear? Does it make sense?
Do the ideas follow one after another?
Is there any grammar or spelling mistakes?
Get ready to display it to the class
