备课标与教材 知识点(语音、词汇、语法等方面) active, indoors, create ,wooden, knock into, divide, aim, basket, metal, hoop, shoot, below, backboard, guide, towards, court, develop, popularity, rise, risen, worldwide, association, equipment.
The passive voice.
 
 重点、难点(知识、技能两个方面) 1)It is believed that on December 21st ,1891. the first basketball game in history was played.     
2)Knocking into players and falling downing would be dangerous
divide…into…    separate …from …    in history
 
 分析知识点与知识系统的关系 Some students have learned and grasped the new language-the passive voice, but this passage will use many language items, so they need to open up their eyes to learn more about the grammar item and all the useful points in this passage. 
 分析确立重难点的依据 My students can recite something well, but they have difficulties to use the language points. This passage provide them lot of knowledge about the popular game-basketball, so the students need to practice more to grasp the key points and difficulty points. 


备学情 学生已具备的知识与技能 They have learned three periods of this unit. They have got some knowledge of the passive voice. But they need to use it by reading and practicing. All the students know the game of basketball, but they need to know more about its history. 
 学生的学习兴趣(对教师、教学法的兴趣) Show some videos about NBA. I think most students will enjoy it. 
 学生的差异性 Most students can use the new grammar well, but the others need to practice more. 

备教学目标 知识与技能目标(分层) Be able to grasp the key words and expressions. Be able to understand the passage well. 
 过程与方法目标 To improve their reading skills and know the history of basketball by reading, grasp the key points by finishing the connected exercises. 
 情感态度目标 Set up their mind to invent useful thing to change people’s life better. 
 创新支点 The famous NBA stars and their videos.

教学流程 Task 1 Discuss:
Aim: know something and somebody about the game
T:  Do you often have sports?

Task 2 Fast reading
Aim: to gain the main idea of the passage.
Steps: 1.Read the passage quickly.
 2. Answer the questions in their learning plan.
 3. Discuss the answers in groups.
 4. Check their answers.
Task 3. Read aloud.
Aims: to grasp the key words ,expressions and the grammar items  in the passage and try to use them.
1. Listen to the tape and try to follow it.
2. Read it aloud freely. Try to find out the key points of this passage.
3. Discuss in groups.
4. Share their result.
Task 4. Work in groups.
Aim: to get the key points of this period.
1. With your partners you are to read and summarize each paragraph in this reading .First one student reads a paragraph to the other student. You can help each other out with the hard words. It is very important to listen carefully!
2. The student that did not read the paragraph must write a one or two sentence summary of the paragraph .You can discuss the summary and help each other with the wording and the spelling .It is important to write the most important things. Remember, you are summarizing the paragraph.
3. The student that summarized the first paragraph reads and the other student listens. Then the listener writes the summary .The group continues reading, taking turns reading and summarizing. Remember the teacher is looking for “just the facts .”

1. Give them enough time to finish the exercises.
2. Walk around them to find out their problems.
3. Discuss the answers in groups.
4. Share the answers together.
Task 6. After reading.
Aim: to be able to make a conclusion of this period.
Discuss how they have improved their reading skills.
Summery: Revise the key points of this periods.
