从以下任务中选定一项作为你学习本课时要完成的任务。
1、阅读课文，理解课文内容，并能就自己所了解的国家，举出实例做对比介绍。
   对存在的问题找出解决的对策
2、阅读课文，理解课文内容，能结合课文内容和自己所了解的国家，举出实例做对比介绍。
3、阅读课文，了解human development report的内容，并能简单用英语介绍
评价
标准 从以下标准中选定至少两项作为你本课时学习的评价标准。
1、理解连词but, however and although, while.的用法，并能准确运用。
2、理解文中重点单词的用法，并熟练应用于介绍的内容中。
3、理解human development report意义，并结合自己的实际情况做简单介绍。
4、借助同伴的启示与帮助，更好地完成老师布置的任务。
 学习过程：
   StepⅠLead-in
      Talk about the development of some developed countries and the
situation of some developing countries.
  Step ⅡFast-reading  Match the main idea with each paragraph.                                                                            
     Para.1           Examples of successful development in 2003.
    Para.2           The most five important goals of the report.
    Para.3           Developed countries should give more financial help.
    Para.4           The H.D Index measures a country’s achievement
    Para.5           How the Human Development Report came out.
Step Ⅲ Detailed reading
     Read the text quickly and silently and find the answers to the questions.
   1. What did world leaders agree to do in 2000?
   2. What does the Human Development Index measure?
   3. What are the first two Development Goals?
   4. What progress have we made towards these goals?
   5. What do developed countries need to do?
Step Ⅳ Discussion
Choose one of the problems of developing countries and discuss how to solve them(hunger, poverty, disease, education etc.)
Step V.  Homework
  Write a summary of the passage.
