Module task: Doing a questionnaire about the experiences

Unit 1 Have you ever entered a competition?

Topic: Have you ever entered a competition?

Teaching Objectives: Computer, tape recorder

Teaching aid: Help the students to ask questions about experiences .

Structure : Listening for specific information;  Asking questions.

Teaching procedure:

Vocabulary and listening

Step 1:  Listen and number the words and expressions as you hear them

Give the students some minutes to look at the pictures. Get the students to work in pairs and match the words with the pictures.

Play the tape for the students to choose their answers. Then check the answers with the whole class.

Ask the students to close their books and listen to the tape again. Then open the books and read after the tape. Give some explanation.

 

Step 2  Say which of words in Activity 1 you can see in the photo. .

Now work in pairs. Ask the students to say which of words in Activity 1 they can see in the photo. Give the students some minutes to work in pairs. Then ask some students to say out their answers . Give some help if necessary.

Then check the answers with the whole class.

 

Step 3: Listen and read

Play the tape again for the students to listen to the dialogue. Ask the students to close their books and listen to the tape again. Then open the books and read the dialogue after the tape. Give some explanation. Give the students some minutes to read the sounds to each other. Ask some students to read for the class.

 

Step 4 Check the things Lingling and Sally have done.

Now work in pairs. Ask the students to check the things Lingling and Sally have done.. Give the students some minutes to work in pairs. Then ask some students to say out the things Lingling and Sally have done. . Give some help if necessary.

Then check the answers with the whole class.

 

Step 5 Work in pairs. Ask and say what Lingling and Sally have or haven’t done

Now work in pairs. Ask the students to ask their friends what Lingling and Sally have or haven’t done.

 Give the students some minutes to work in pairs. Then ask some students to say out what Lingling and Sally have or haven’t done

Now work in pairs. Ask the students to ask their friends the questions in Activity 7. Give the students some minutes to work in pairs. Then ask some students to say out their answers. Give some help if necessary. Then check the answers with the whole class.
