【学习目标】

1.了解星座的相关知识  2.辨别不同星座的标志，学习标志名称。

3.了解代表十二星座的动物名称

【课前准备】

1．了解星座的背景知识。黄道十二星座的名称，即：白羊、金牛、双子、巨蟹、狮子、处女、天平、天蝎、人马、摩羯、宝瓶、双鱼。

2. 请同学们说出十二生肖的英文名称

Rat\Ox\Tiger\Rabbit\Dragon\Snake\Horse\Goat\Monkey\Rooster\Dog\Pig

3．了解中西方文化关于属相和星座的差别

【课堂学习】

 一、语言知识

1.完成课本P7 Part A., Part B 然后全班交流答案。

2. 听磁带，回答下列问题。P6

What does Eddie think of Hobo when Hobo gives him the newspaper?

What does Hobo think of the stars on the newspaper?

What does the newspaper say about Eddie’s stars?

What does Hobo think of the words on the newspaper?

二、能力训练

1．猜谜语

(1). It lives in rivers and uses its fins and tail to swim.

(2) It is a large, yellow and brown animals of the cat family, mainly living inAfrica and parts of Southern Asia. The male has long, thick fur around its neck.

(3) It is a creature in ancient Greek stories, with a man’s head, arms and upper body on a house’s body and legs.

(4) It is a sea creature with a shell, eight legs and two large pointed arms for catching things. It moves sideways on land.

2．学生两人一组练对话，彼此询问属相和生日，然后引出各自的星座名称。eg:

S1: What’s your animals sign?       S2: The pig.

S1: When is your birthday?           S2:It’s on 10th February.

三、要点点拨

  1．It’s nice of you to bring me the newspaper, Hobo.

★用“it is + 形容词 + of…+ (not) to-不定式”来表达对某人行为的看法和观点，常见的形容词有：careful, careless, clever, foolish, good, kind, nice, polite,

selfish, silly, wrong etc.

Eg: It’s very nice of you to help me. = You are very nice to help me.

★bring用作动词，意为“带来”“取来”或者“带……到某处”，强调从别处拿到说话者处，可以带两个宾语：一个是直接宾语，另一个是间接宾语，

即bring sb. sth.或bring sth. to sb.。如：
Don’t forget to bring her some flowers. 不要忘记给她带些花来。
2. It says I’ll have lots to eat and drink today.

★在当主语是书面材料或者可见的东西时，如letter, notice等，say意为“写道”“显示”。如：
The notice said “Keep out”. 告示上写着：“禁止入内”。
3. Well, you shouldn’t worry about not having breakfast then.
★这里having breakfast是动名词形式，作介词about的宾语。动名词是动词的非谓形式之一，一般是在动词后面加“-ing”而成。在意义上，动作性比较强，但在句子中起名词的作用，
