通天蜡烛位于佛冈与从化交界处，虽然不是自然保护区，但仍然保留着原始的气息。时值春季，山里许多植物都亮出了新装，在这深深的山野中，最令人心动的是盛开的野杜鹃，红通通开满山头。这满山的花草树木虽不艳丽，但却很养眼，很和谐，能让你久久地观赏，慢慢地陶醉，深深地着迷。春季看花深秋赏枫叶，登山营露都可以。路线方面广州走机场高速转入街北高速——G105从化街口——良口镇——左转走X287县道——黄龙带水库——石明村（左转直入）——石明小学——分岔路往左走那条，直入3公里——水库大坝——枫树湾营地，全程约120公里，车程差不多3小时左右。从枫树营地步行到顶来回需时3小时左右。
