     震旦角化石仅产于中国，是中国的特有化石之一，其名Sino—（震旦）为中国之古称。它是中国典陶纪的重要化石之一，是四亿四千多万年前生活在海洋中的凶猛食肉动物。

     震旦角化石是史前已灭绝的一属鹦鹉螺类,古无脊椎动物。头足纲的一属。外壳呈圆锥形或圆柱形。壳面覆以显著的波状横纹。隔壁颈相当于气室深度的1/3至1/2。体管细小，位居中央或微偏。常见于我国南部奥陶纪地层中。纵切面磨光状如塔，因形似“宝塔”、“竹笋”、故民间俗称“宝塔石”、“竹笋石”、“震邪石”、“发财石”。
