宋氏祖居位于文昌市昌洒镇古路园村，坐落在一片果树环抱的山丘上，周围绿树成荫，环境幽静。

这里是宋氏高祖、曾祖、祖父三代的居住地。其父宋耀如（韩教准）于1863年在这里出生。为纪念宋庆龄及其家族在中国近现代历史上留下的深远影响，文昌人民政府于1985年修复宋氏祖居。

宋氏祖居是由两间普通民房连带院子、横室组成的建筑，灰色，原祖居当年被台风刮倒，1985年按原貌重建。

修葺一新的宋庆龄祖居为当地传统的农家宅院,由2间正屋、2间横屋、2间门楼和院墙组成,占地1500平方米，建筑面积198平方米。

这里曾经居住着宋庆龄的高祖叫韩儒循，曾祖叫韩锦彝，祖父叫韩鸿翼，三代都在这里居住和务农。 家谱看出：宋庆龄的祖父韩鸿翼生有3男，即韩政准、韩教准、韩致准。韩家祖先务农，生活艰难。1875年，宋庆龄的父亲韩教准12岁时，由于家境贫寒，同哥哥韩政准一起跟随舅舅到美国谋生，后来被舅舅收为养子，从此改姓换名为宋嘉树，号耀如。 宋耀如（1863-1918），广东文昌人（今海南文昌），是革命先辈中一位杰出的先锋战士。他支持孙中山先生的革命事业，倾尽家产，为辛亥革命做出了重大贡献。 他被称为“宋氏家族第一人”，他鲜明的个性熏陶和培养了宋氏三姐妹及宋子文、宋子良、宋子安三兄弟。
