Clean Energy in Sichuan

A couple of days just before the first anniversary of Sichuan Wenchuan Earthquake, the reporters from Energy Review interviewed on the spot in the areas of Yingxiu, Zipingpu and Dazhou, to find out the reconstruction and choice of Sichuan Energy, and its new coordinate in the national energy. Sichuan is known to be pregnant with beauty and productive of talent, and indeed it never stops its contribution. Han Zhongliang: The Game between Energy and Finance in the Wake of the G20 London Summit

As the gaming of international finance goes rigorous after the G20 Summit in London, attention is drawn to the question of how to plan China energy and finance strategy and what way to choose. Han Zhongliang, expert at international finance, analyses in depth the problems in the formulation of China’s energy finance strategy and their ways out, by employing the principles of game theory.

 

Photovoltaic Industrial Policy: Be Wary of Going South by Driving Chariot North

Shi Dinghuan,counsellor of the State Council and president of China Energy Association, argues that on-grid price can not be the sole competitive index for tendering of PV projects in China, nor is it necessary to cultivate solar energy market by granting of franchise rights. He further proposes that on the condition that the National Development and Reform Commission competently supervises, there is no harm in releasing tendering right to provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, and only by doing so can China’s PV industry and solar energy market be fostered to develop further.

 

Can Water Resources Bear the Burdon of Energy Industrial Growth

Warned of global water resources going bust, will China be able to use present water resources to meet the demand from the future energy growth as a country of short water resources? By taking fossil fired plants, the main water consumption factories in energy industry, as the subject matter for research, the Development Research Center of Ministry of Water Resources, predicts the various water demands when guided by different energy policies. The result appears to be more optimistic than expected, but the premise is the energy sector should strengthen the construction of water-saving industry.

 

Unbearable Heaviness of Electric Power Planning

Experts argue that based on the fact that China Electric Power sector is still in transition to market economy, we should forsake the “ultimate blueprint” planning during the next five years, establish progressively comprehensive system for resources planning and administration, and implement the strategy of “rolling adjustment”.
