一．总则　                 

本考试是河北省学位委员会为检测成人高等教育本科毕业生英语水平而组织的统一考试，目的是检验考生掌握与运用英语水是否达到了本科毕业生应掌握的知识及能力。考试采用标准化测试的方式。考试合格者，由省学位办发给合格证书。

本考试主要考核学生是否能够较好地用英语获取信息和传递信息。要求考生具有较强的阅读能力，一定的听，译能力以及初步的写和说的能力，使学生能以英语为工具，获取专业所需的信息。

本部分共30题，考试时间为50分钟。要求考生阅读若干篇短文，总阅读量不超过2500词。题材广泛，体裁多样。词汇一般超出要求词汇表时，则注明文中的汉语词义。

该部分旨在测试考生以下能力：

能综合运用英语语言知识和阅读技能，能读懂一般性题材的文章和科技文献。要求能抓住文章大意、读懂细节，能理解上下文的逻辑关系，并领会作者的意图和态度。阅读速度应达到每分钟80个单词左右。

第三部分：完型填空

本部分共20题，考试时间为15分钟。题型为在一篇题材熟悉，难度适中的短文中设置20个空白，每个空白为一题，要求考生从所给的四个选项中选出一个最佳答案。最终使短文结构和思想恢复完整。该部分旨在测试学生英语的综合语言应用能力。

第四部分：英译汉

本部分共6题，考试时间为15分钟。一般从原阅读理解的短文中选出若干句子，要求学生根据对原文的理解，将选出的6题逐一译成汉语，可直译和意译，但意译要求准确，书写要工整符合汉语的表达方法。该部分旨在测试考生的笔译能了。

Few natural dangers are more feared than avalanches. Avalanches are a familiar part of European history, particularly in the Swiss and French Alps. This is where the direction of wars has turned almost instantly because of avalanches wiping out invading armies.

In North America, avalanches are limited almost entirely to the Rocky Mountains and the lower ranges to the west, the Sierra Nevadas and the Cascades. Avalanches have occurred in the mountains of New England but not with the regularity and intensity seen in the western mountains.
