最近在上一门英语学术演讲课，感觉收获很大，在此总结一下。
第一部分：演讲前的准备
1. remember target audience, explain your topic clearly
-explain the jargons 学术演讲中有很多术语，不要想当然的以为大家都能理解
-don't present too many models when addressing non-expert
target audience
2. what's the purpose of the presentation
-"My purpose of the presentation today is to bring you up to
date with my current research."
第二部分：怎么做一个好的演讲
1. structure
-Tell the audience what you are going to say
-say it
-tell the audience what you have said
是不是听着很傻呢？这就是我们小时候学的三段论。
开始的时候，尽量说的慢一点，让听着有机会熟悉你的声音、语速、口音。
2. the role of Redundancy
-emphasize key concepts, key moments of speech
-"in other words", "so"
-practical example
口语和书面语言的区别就是，口语能够更直观的传递信息
3. sign posting
-"Let's begin by.."
-"Let's look at this in more detail"
-"Having said this, it's important to look at..."
-"So this brings me to my final point"...(This gives the
audience a sense of time)结束的不会太唐突
-"So the takeaway message is ..."
presentation结束的时候，强调一下要点，能帮助听着记忆
4. two inputs: visual support and speech
Don't focus on PPT slides. They are only there to help.
communicate ideas rather than language
一个好的presentation 要记住关键词 而不是从头到尾照本宣科
provide variety and flexibility of language
structure多用并列:Today, I am going to
explore..examine...test...
5. be polite in answering questions
-"Thank you for your questions."
-"Could that answer your question?"
6. adapt to the audience
improvise
react to their questions
