刚刚看到有个帖子说“因为读工程的能review 商学院的论文，从而证明商学院的MBA、MASTER对PHD没有用”，先不讨论内容本身，我觉得这种推断犯了一个很大的逻辑错误,这里没有必然的causal logic. 还有，读论文光光做summary估计不够。

这几天正好在整理critique 商科论文的一些要点。这学期的一门课，老师要求我们每周写review，刚开始的时候，大家写的主要是summary，在老师的指导下，我们已经开始从summary 转向critique了。整理了一下上课笔记，有这么几点， 主要是针对Empirical paper，大家可以讨论讨论

( P.S. Empirical paper is easier to review than a theoretical paper )

1. Goal of the paper: does the paper deliver the research question
文章要有一个核心的research question  

2. measurement:
(1)How does the exact measure relate to the concept (internal validity)
(2)Generalizability (external validity)
关于这一点，不能简单的说the sample is biased. 如果所有的independent variables 以同样的方式bias, 在很多情况下，不影响结果。要区分downward bias(conservative estimates) 和 upward bias(overestimate). 区分标准是如果扩大Sample，如何影响结果
(3) underlying assumptions

3. operationalization of variables

4. analysis:
empirical: method and methodology  methodology范围更大，method 是指OLS等具体使用的方法
theoretical: causal logic/reasoning 简单说，A能否推出B，或者说A推出B中间有个moderating variable C.

5. implications
(1)theoretical relevance (add to the theory or push research stream)
(2) practical relevance (policy, managerial)

6. Is it an interesting story? Sense making?

7. 还有construct definition和关于research context的讨论也很重要
literature review的深度和与research question的关联,包括引用的文献的质量

感谢楼主分享，四点补充，纯属个人建议，欢迎各位讨论

1. 你i说的第一点中，我个人建议还要加入一点：what is new and why is it important  至少对于OB的文章来说，introduction里必须要说清楚

2. 第二点中，需要首先阐述清楚：what is your level of analysis。其次要注意sample size，individual level建议300以上，group level建议150 units以上

3. 第三点特别重要，两条基本rules:

a. use fully-validated scale if possible; and when you use it, try not selecting items out unless you have damn good justifications.
b. do not rush into developing ur own scales unless u have convincing and reasonable evidence that could tell a different story out of the current knowledge upon construct or dimensionality

4. 第四点，如果用HLM, SEM这些方法，不要试图mess up with the data。以OB为例，APA要求所有paper的原始数据保留10年，任何人都有权利像作者要原始数据做验证，而PSY的确是有疯子真的会去验证。所以，不管data好还是不好，不管你用什么方法，在第四步里都不要试图作假。
