背景信息：
荷兰的大学董事会是由12位老师和12位共同组成的，负责大学的主要决定、战略等等。2010年，我代表中国学生（国际学生）参选，虽然最后没有如愿进入董事会，但是经历了这个民主选举的过程。

Our university is governed by the Board of Directors, who meet and talk about their poilicies with the University Council. The University Council has right ofdecision, to give advise and the right to take initiatives on the policies of the Board of Directors. Our opinion is taking very seriously and so, the University Council can greatly influence on everything that happens at the university. The Council is composed of 24 members, twelve students and twelve members of the personnel. The current Council is divided in the following fractions:Personelfraction:
12, Student: SOG: 7, Calimero: 4 and GSb: 1

The SOG has been the biggest student party for the last six years. This year we will campaign with the next eleven slogans. These slogans are further explainedin both our Extended Election Programme and our Election Programme:
-Education at the first place
-More interactive education
-Full time effort for your vote
-Longer opening hours for Libraries
-Go abroad in your minor
-Personal Study Guidance
-Paying with your Student Card
-More study/computer workspaces
-Account Teachers for bad education
- Freedom of Choice in your time as a student
-More attention for career options
Update 2011
说说去年我的参选经历吧。我去年曾经有幸代表中国学生作为SOG 的代表(candidate)，参加了University Board
竞选。怀着对于“民主”的一腔热情，投入到竞选活动中。SOG的一位负责人跟我联系，我提出了很多建议（我也曾经在其他几个场合以及学校的各类问卷提出过这些问题，从来没有得到任何反馈），包括
（1）希望在ZERNIKE提供微波炉供中国和其他亚裔学生；
（2）希望在校图书馆提供热水
等等，这些说来其实都是不难解决的小事。
另外：那些荷兰人曾经提出要设立International Student Council 后来也不了了之（我还写过几封邮件去问，都告诉我在筹备中）。今年在SOG的竞选资料中也看到了这个International Student Council 不知大家对此作何感想？
