平江路地处市中心，靠近观前街，临近苏州大学，两边的交通都极其方便。周围保留了大批的老式民宅，走进平江路，一股历史的气息就迎面扑来，河道西面的民宅多数为依河而建。随处都是上了年纪的老房子，在这样的旅游城市里存在这样的历史街区其实并不稀奇，但一路走来，你就会慢慢惊叹它的美丽。

街两边音响放着评弹和昆曲，漫步其中仿佛走在历史的一角，安静平和。随处可见的古建筑，保留完好，青石砖路，白墙青瓦，木栅花窗，刻着古代花纹的墙砖，斑驳的木门和窗棂，清淡分明。非常喜欢街上那些特色的的一些店铺和那些古朴的亭榭，略微入住了些许的现代气息的小店，时尚着，淳朴着，不卑不亢。每个店铺都独具特色，值得你驻足观摩。

现在的我们总是匆忙于各种琐碎的杂事，心灵已疲惫不堪了，我们迷失了自我，神经紧绷，生活节奏加速。也许这样一个充满生活情调安闲优雅的一条路，可以给我带来片刻的放松，给了我暂且休憩的安慰。
