EXPRESSION OF ANCHOR BOLTS IN ENGLISH

地脚螺栓的两种英文表达：anchor bolt 和 hold-down bolt。但如果进一步对比和推敲，发现两者之间还是存在差异，因此在使用过程中可根据实际情况来判断和选择。

Definition  Anchor bolts are used to connect structural and non-structural elements to the concrete.

定义 锚栓/地脚螺栓用于将结构或非结构件连接到混凝土。

There’re different kinds of bolts each made for a specific application. The size of the bolt will determine if it will hold objects adequately in place. There are some that will be bent with a hook at the end. Also, you need to attach them at the right proximity otherwise they will damage the wall.

不同类型的螺栓应用于不同的情况。螺栓的尺寸决定是否能将物体固定到位。有一些螺栓的端部弯曲成钩状。安装螺栓的位置应恰当，否则会损坏墙壁。

Hold-down bolt is basically cast-in bolts and have J type structure with threading on one end to install the nuts.

地脚螺栓通常为浇筑在混凝土当中的钩型螺栓，其中一端带螺纹以便安装螺帽。

通过定义可以看出，anchor bolt所表示的锚栓类型更加广泛，包括常见的机械锚栓、化学锚栓、膨胀螺栓，以及端部为钩状的地脚螺栓。而hold-down bolt特指端部为钩状的地脚螺栓。

Installation Time  After concrete set: to install anchor bolts, first drill some holes where the bolts will go in. You can use a hammer to hit the bolt until it goes inside the hole and then tighten it.

安装时间  混凝土凝结之后：首先在安装点钻孔，装入螺栓，然后用锤子敲击螺栓，直到螺栓嵌入足够深，再将其拧紧。

Before concrete set: it is called cast in place bolt, which means install the bolts first, and then pour the concrete, so the bolt is embedded into the concrete.

Anchor bolt的定义更广，因此运用范围也更广，可以用在地面、墙面和天花板上的锚固。Hold-down bolt用在混凝土地面上大型设备和机械等的固定，在风力或地震的影响下，设备或机械可能发生倾斜，地脚螺栓通过自身的拉力将这些设备或机械hold down（拉住），避免倾覆。
