美国使馆来信

12月7日收到冰岛美国使馆的电子邮件，他们已经办好了我1年，可以多次往返的“特殊签证”。要我于2012年元月16日前往冰岛去拿签证。由于我有“非法入境美国”的案底，使这签证的获得迁延了时日。

我想说美国的签证官具有优秀的品德，他们没有象别的国家的官吏一样——遇事推诿，拒签了事。而是敢于负责，处事公道。我赞美他们的人品，不管批复是给签证还是拒签。

同时没有改变对当时那些没有教养、处事糊涂、讲话是非颠倒、调戏被囚墨西哥偷渡妇女、也包括当时在场者众，却视而不见的美国官兵们以应有的轻蔑与鄙视。不恭维美国边境检查站（事发经过详见2007年博文拙作《非法入境美国》）。参照阿布格莱布监狱丑闻，不敢十分恭维小布什的政绩。

出于经济的考量，我不想远赴冰岛去拿这签证了。但这签证对我还是有意义的，下次若我申请美国签证时，它或许平反了我“非法入境”那荒诞、滑稽的案底。

附上美国驻冰岛使馆来信如下：

Dear Mr. Li, Your waiver request of your 9B2 ineligibility has been approved by the Department of Homeland Security.  They have granted permission for you to be issued a visitor visa valid for 12 months, multiple entries.  The U.S. Embassy in Reykjavik, Iceland can print your visa for you and place it in your passport.  Please note that you must physically be here in order to complete visa processing. You can drop your passport off at the U.S. Embassy in Reykjavik any weekday (excluding holidays) between 9:00 and 16:00.  You do not need a special appointment to drop off your passport.  The Embassy is located at 21 Laufasvegur, 101 Reykjavik.  Your passport will be ready for pick  up the following business day between 14:00 and 16:00.  Again, no appointment is needed to pick up your passport. Important:  Please note that the visa must be issued within 45 days of waiver approval.  This means that you must bring your passport to us by January 16, 2012 or your waiver approval will expire.
