FOD DROPPERS:
China National Aviation Corporation (CNAC) aircraft crashed near Myitkyina, Burma, all aboard this plane were killed with the exception of two food droppers. The plane was destroyed by the ensuing fire。
Later Report: The enlisted man aboard this plane, Pfc. Durgin was severely injured, and died 18 hours after the crash. His body was sent via Tengchung to Kunming, China for burial. Lee Yun Waox and Chun Chee Ping, servived the crash, but were also injured. The pilot, co-pilot and the radio operator’s bodies were cremated in the fire that completely consumed the plane after the crash. The plane crashed about 1 1/2 miles NNW of the boundary post # 37 near the Burma-China border, about 5 miles by jundle trail to Kambaiti, Burma. Services for the crew killed were held over the wreckage is as (25 25-98 09)

This CNAC aircraft departed Kunming, China at 0030 GMT. At 0315 GMT the last radio contact was made. On 8 January, a report was received that an aircraft was found at the base of Mt.. Tali, with one American and two Chinese bodies in the wreckage. It has been established, this is # 102 and its crew, all were killed.

This plane was enroute from Sookerating to Kunming, China. It departed at 0710 IST, made radio contact at 0822 IST. Since then there has been no word. Weather was overcast in layers over the entire route. Tops at 25,000 to 30,000 feet, thunderstorms, severe icing, with rain and snow in the clouds. Severe turbulence over the first ridge. Winds exceed 70 MPH. Report of 15 April 1945, from Chinese net, comes information that the bodies of the entire crew of number 6559 were found and buried at WAMATI, by a missionary, a Mr. Peterson. Location of wreck (26 10-98 45 30).

This crash is north of the Tengchung-Paoshan Road. Pilot Bob Prescott overved #47 go through a V shaped pass and turn into a dead end valley. Crew killed. Capt. Mickelson was a formaer flying Tiger, well liked and respected by his peers.

This aircraft departed Dinjan airfield at 1635 IST enroute to Kunming, China. A ground party found the wreck on 14 December 1944, on top of a ridge, about four miles from the Ledo road. The aircraft and the cargo were found, and that of Capt. Anderson was identified. All bodies were buried at the crash scene. The wreck is located on the map at (27 15-96 01)
