India has been a very special culture to me. I remember whenever we were out of power, my parents took me to the closest cinema for movie and most of the time Indian movies were on. As a little kid, I didn’t have any clue about why we had so many Indian films in China. Now I get to understand that might be something political. India and China were closer then?

Forget about the politics.

Those were the days. The general idea of Indian tunes has deeply rooted in my mind, so that I can easily master Indian singing, but not the lyrics. Sometimes I even vaguely believed that I was Indian in my former life.

Later, we never had any more problems with power. Then I haven’t gone for movies and India became a distant memory till I began to have some Indian friends for real.

I can even handle indian dance.

However, the experience is not so sweet, since they want to do things with you, but sometimes they just don’t show up. I got stood up by one of the Indian guys twice. This has never happened to me before.

Amby is different. She works with fashion. She hasn’t stood me up so far. I’m so happy. And she even came for Steven’s. I surprised her by singing songs on Devdas.

We were having a lot of fun today, I suppose. We talked about life in India, we talked about Indian food, we talked about her first try in movie and we even talked about being gay in India. It was just amazing to share some unique stories in such a cozy place.
