Persuasive Speaking Outline

Specific purpose: To persuade my audience to help the people who face the earthquake in Sichuan, China.

Centre Ideal: 7,9 earthquake happened in China, We need to help them.

Introduction

1)  These days, I think not so many people in China focus on Olympic Games, why?

2)  I think all of you have already known the horrible earthquake happened this Monday in Sichuan, China,

3)  Until now 21,577 people have died in my hometown, over 30,000people have been injured or are missing.

4) Over 500,000 houses were falling down by the 7.9 earthquake. And the number is rising.

Transition:

1)   I was shocked when I heard this news, because all of my family members are living in Sichuan, now they are facing the biggest disaster in China in 30 years, people do need help from all over the world.

 2)  Cousin’s story.

(Need)

    1)  People need more modern machine to help them find survive. E.g. crane, excavator.

    2)   People in these disaster areas face a big problem; although they are alive now, they lack medicine, blood, and health care. They are also in danger all the time.

    3)    The earthquake destroyed schools in Sichuan. Now children have no school to study in these disaster areas.

      E.g.: In Dujiangyan Juyuan middle school, a 6floor building fallen down, there were 1000 children were studying when the earthquake come .until now, only about 100 kids were saved .over 900 kids have died in the middle school.

      4) People in the disaster area also need water, tent, clothes ….

(Solve)

     A:   When you see the photo of a father hold his 9 years old son’s body; when you watch a 7years old girl hold her dead mom’s hand; when you see so many people are buried  in the buildings. Can you feel how much painful they are suffering? Do you want do some thing to help them? Today, I encourage you, my class mates, to make a donation for the people who are facing the disaster in my hometown, to help them rebuild their homeland.

1)      You can make a donation trough Red Cross; they will provide food, clothes, health care and education for the people in the disaster area.

2)      In Chicago, the Chinese American Service League is accepting donations to help victims of Monday’s earthquake.

Please read carefully the paper (How to Help) I gave to you .there must be an easy way for you to make a donation and deliver your love.

Conclusion

1)        We can not go to the Sichuan as volunteers as my cousin did, we can not give our blood to the people now.

2)        But one thing we can do is, donate money to help, to save the people in the disaster area.
