Module2 Unit1 I helped my mum. (Book7)

I.Analysis of the teaching material

   The background of this lesson is that Daming did lots of things yesterday. Such a topic is related to the children’s daily life, so it is helpful to raise learning interests of students’ and it will be also helpful to improve their language abilities. Since the students have learned the past form of was and were in Module 7 of Book6. I will put more emphasis on learning the past form of the regular verds: cleaned, finished, washed and helped. That is what we can prepare for the learning of other regular verbs and irregular verbs.

II.The analysis of the students

The students are in Grade Four. They have great interests in learning English. They like playing and acting. So it is necessary to supply them with the real circumstances to learn and use the knowledge.

III.The teaching aim:

1.     Knowledge aim:

Learn and grasp the 4-skilled word:

yesterday, clean-cleaned, finish-finished. wash-washed, help-helped, dirty

drill: I helped my mum.

 2.Ability aim: Can use the knowledge to talk about the past activities and finish the task.

3.Emotion aim: Train the students’ abilities of listening and speaking. And arouse the students to cooperate and help each other.

IV.Teaching key and difficult points:

1.Key points: Words : yesterday, clean-cleaned, finish-finished. wash-washed, help-helped, dirty

Drill: I helped my mum.

Can use the knowledge to talk about the past activities and finish the task.

2.Difficulties:The pronunciation of the past form words.

Preparation for teaching:Word cards, tape, CAI ,CD-ROM

V.The teaching process

一、Warming up

1.Greetings: Hello, everyone. How are you?

2.Free talk

  ①Yesterday, I watched TV. I washed my clothes.

    Look!(Show the pictures of the students)

What did you/he/she do yesterday?

 I/He played football. She listened to music.

  ②Who are they? They’re Lucy and Zara.

    Where were they? They were at Buckingham Palace.

二、Presentation and leading

1.Look! Who’s he? He’s Daming. Where was Daming yesterday? He’s at home yesterday.

What’s meaning of “yesterday”?

Read and spell the words “yesterday”, then find out short words: yes and day in it.

2. Daming was very happy yesterday. He did lots of things. Do you want to know? Now let’s go to Daming’s house.

Show a video and lead in the new lesson

    3. Listen again, show question:

        What did Daming do yesterday?

三、Practice and consolidation

1. After listening, answer the question:

①I cleaned my room./ He cleaned his room.

 Show card, read and spell the word “clean”, emphasis on the pronunciation of /n/ (voiced consonants)then make up phrases and chant: clean my room, clean your room, clean his room, clean her room

②I finished my homework./ He finished his homework.

  Show card, read and spell the word “finish”, compare it with “fish”, emphasis on the pronunciation of /∫/(voiceless consonant), then make up phrase: finish my homework

③I washed my trousers./ He washed his trousers.

  Show card, read and spell the word “wash”, emphasis on the pronunciation of /∫ /(voiceless consonant),then make up phrase: wash my trousers

  Why? They were very dirty.

  Show card, read and spell the word “dirty”, “dirty” and “clean” are opposite words.

④I helped my mum./ He helped his mum.

  Show card, read and spell the word “help”, emphasis on the pronunciation of /p/(voiceless consonant),then make up phrases: help my mum/dad/friend

2.     Show cards, read the words as quickly as they can.

3.     “Yesterday” stands for the past, we should use the past form of the verbs.(v.+ed)

Show CAI,read and practise the words:

clean-cleaned, finished-finished. wash-washed, help-helped

Sum up the rule of the simple past tense of regular verbs:

  V.+ ed  and the pronunciation of/ t/ or /d/.(清清浊浊)

   4. Teacher says verds, students say past form.

5. Play a game: Words and numbers.

6. Practise the past form in pairs.

7. Use the past form to describe the pictures:

   Yesterday, I cleaned my room/finished my homework/ washed my trousers/ helped my mum.

8.Fill in the blanks with“cleaned, finished,washed, helped”:

  ①I ______ my room yesterday.

  ②I ______ my mum yesterday.

  ③I ______ my trousers yesterday.

  ④I ______ my homework yesterday.

四、Task fulfilling and sum up

1. Listen and circle the words:

   yesterday, cleaned, finished, washed, dirty

2.Listen and repeat.

3. Practise the text in pairs.

4.Act out the text.

5. Do exercises:

 ①I clean/cleaned my room yesterday.

 ②I finished my / your homework.

 ③He washed  his / her trousers.

 ④I am watch / watching TV now.

6.Show CAI: What did he/ she do yesterday?

He washed his trousers yesterday.

She helped her mum.

五、Homework

1.Listen and read the text.

2.Talk about : What did you/your parents/your friend do yesterday?
