China Institute for Advanced Study (CIAS) Fellows in mathematics and theoretical physics

Objective

This award is intended for three first-rate new PhDs in pure mathematics and theoretical physics in all countries of the world. All three fellows are expected to spend nine months each year at the China Institute for Advanced Study in Beijing.Pure research, No teaching required.

Stipend

The Fellowship will support three outstanding new PhDs pursuing research in all fields of pure mathematics and theoretical physics. It will cover 36 months full-time research as well as funds for travel and equipment. The compensation is $60,000 for 12 months. The travel and equipment portion is limited to $5,000 for 12 months.

Eligibility

This fellowship is for new PhDs: candidates expecting to receive a PhD in the year 2009 are eligible to apply.
