Rice at Davos: US Economy is resilient, can weather turbulence

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, in a nod to the anxiety that has enveloped the World Economic Forum, said Wednesday that the US economy was resilient and would remain an "engine of growth."

Speaking to an audience of chief executives, politicians and others, Rice said that a $150 billion stimulus package proffered by US President George W. Bush would "Boost consumer spending and support business investment this year." (AP)
