The article begins with easy reading but grows harder towards its end, both grammatically and knowledgewise. For example, even with the help of a medium-sized dictionary, most of the economics student would not be able to know who Zarathustra was, or what Zoroastrian did. What is the purpose of this exam? I believe it is to test if students have a real understanding of some texts which are deceptively easy. Dictionaries should be allowed. But the texts need to be culled from some highly convoluted philosophical writings. The test should not be one on vocabulary, hence the allowability of a dictionary. It should be a test on understanding of some more than sophisticated thought processes.
