Simply and clearly, a man in the picture above is talking to a woman on the table, saying that he loves reading and his reading time can up to 3 hours a day while his favorite book is Facebook. Beyond any doubt, this cartoon illustrates that reading habits of the public nowadays are severely influenced by social networking websites. 

Factors resulting in this trend can be various. To begin with, advanced Internet technology has brought much convenience to us that we don’t need to carry a thick book alongside any longer but a mobile phone. Thus people in mounting numbers start putting down the heavy printed books while picking up their mobile phones to read on the Internet. For another, social networking websites with photos and colorful text even sound are undoubtedly much more tempting than physical books. Meanwhile, friends on social networking websites could interact with each other by commenting, chatting and sharing, which give modern people more interests compared to traditional reading. 

Despite the advantages of reading online, I believe, we should never abandon reading paper books with depth because what we read from social networking websites is merely fast food entertaining eaters while traditional reading is the nourishing dinner,

导致这一趋势的因素有很多。首先，发达的网络技术给我们带来了极大的便利以致于我们不再需要随身携带厚重的书本，只需要一部手机就够了。因此越来越多的人开始放下书本转而拿起手机在网络上阅读。另外，社交网络的图片以及色彩丰富的文字甚至声音都毫无疑问比实体书更具有吸引力。同时，朋友们在社交网站上可以通过评论，聊天，分享等彼此进行互动。相比传统阅读，这给现代人带来了更多阅读乐趣。

尽管网上阅读有各种优势，我认为我们绝不应该放弃阅读有深度的纸质书。因为我们从社交网站阅读到的东西仅仅是开胃的速食快餐，而传统阅读才是营养丰富的正餐。
