       孙过庭书法用笔的特点，唐吕总说他“丹崖绝壑”可谓一语道出精髓，他的书法笔势坚劲，能够兼融飘逸与沉着婀娜与刚健的不同艺术特点，做到 质、妍的统一。孙氏的用笔特点是：点画之内给人以丰满圆转，轻重映带，变化无穷的直观印象。正如他自己所云：“一画之间，变起伏于锋杪；一点之内，殊衄挫于毫芒。”

       他的代表作有自撰书法理论《书谱》及草书《千字文》。 《书谱》书风浓润圆熟，有涡猊游龙之势。此中，他提出了著名的书法观：“古不乖时，今 不同弊”之说。两汉以来论书之作甚多，而此篇文思缜密，言简意赅，于 “执、使转、用”之际，多真知灼见，是中国书学史上一篇划时代的书法论著。
