due的用法

形容词 (a.) 

1.         到期的，到付账日的，到上交日的，到归还日的等等
The bank loan is due this month. 银行贷款本月到期。[be due] 

The bill is due. 这张票据到期了。

My salary is due tomorrow. 我明天领薪。

These are library books, due August 29. 这些是图书馆的书，8月29日到期应还。[due] 

2.         (车、船、飞机、人、物等等)预定应到的，预期应到的，按约定/预计/计划/推测应做某事的
When is the train due? 火车什么时候到? [be due]

Phil's train is due at 7:00 p.m. 菲尔的火车预计划下午七点钟到。

He is about due for a promotion. 按预计，他快要晋升了。

The baby is due in the middle of January. 婴儿预计1月中旬出生。

His next book is due out shortly.他的下一本书预计很快将出版。

He was due back (at work) Friday morning. 他预定于周五早晨回来（上班）。

I’m due for a pay rise soon. 我不久就要加薪了。

The plane was due（in）at six．It is an hour overdue．飞机应该是6点到，现在已误点一小时了。

The ewe is due (to lamb) this week. 这头母羊预计本周下羊羔。

3.         （款项/费用）拖欠着的/没有支付的，通常放在名词后面;
the amount still due 任然欠着没还的金额

4.         （款项/费用/东西等）应该支付的/应递交的/应给予的

Refunds are considered due within seven days of flight cancellation.退款被认为应在航班取消后7天内支付。

引申：表示“（款项/费用/东西等）应该支付/应递交/应给予（某人）的”，通常与介词 to 连用。如：

A great deal of money is due to you. 应付给你一大笔钱。

That money is due to me, but I haven't got it yet. 那笔钱是应付给我的,而我至今还未拿到。

Respect is due to older people. 年长者应受到尊重。

Our grateful thanks are due to you. 我们衷心感谢你。

He was treated with the deference due to an old man like him. 他受到了像他这样的老人应该改受到的敬重。

5.         应有的，充分的，合适的，正当的，正式的，通常只放在名词前作定语。

He handled it with due care. 他以应有的小心处理这事。

take due care 给予应有的关心

have due cause to do sth 有做某事的充分理由

due proof of loss 正式的，能证明损失的证据

We should pay due attention to this problem. 我们应对这个问题给予适当的注意。

You must put these things in due order. 你必须把这些东西按适当的顺序放好。

6.         因为，由于 [due to sth]

照传统语法，due to 主要引导表语，一般不引导状语。如：

His absence was due to the storm. 他因暴风雨而缺席。

Her success was due to her hard work. 她成功是因为她努力工作。

　　The accident was due to carelessness．这起车祸是由粗心造成的。

Our happy childhood is due to our father's hard work. 我们幸福的童年应归功于父亲的辛勤工作。

但是，在现代英语中，due to 也可用来引导状语。如：

He was late due to the very heavy traffic. 由于交通拥挤他迟到了。

Due to the bad weather, I had to put off the sports meeting. 由于糟糕的天气，我不得不延迟运动会。

The society would be unsteady due to the unemployment widely.大规模的失业会导致社会不稳定。

名词 (n.) 

2.         应得之物;应得权益[C]
She asked no more than her due. 她没有提非分的要求。
