Unit 1 how many people are there in your family?
Ⅰ. The analysis of textbook.
1.The position of this lesson.
It’s in Unit 1,Module 4.Book A of Grade Seven.
2.Status and function.
Class takes family as topic of conversation. It’s closed to Ss’ real life. The Ss have learnt “how many…are there?” “There is/are…”. In this unit they will learn “have got ”and some words about family members. By studying this lesson, train the Ss to briefly introduce one’s family and communicate with their family members.

4.Key points:
Ⅱ.The analysis of the studying situation.
1.They are students of Grade One. They can speak only a little English. But they are interested in English. It’s good for English studying.
2.It’s hard for the Ss to master the new structures; we should adopt the training being unlike a form.

Step1.Warming-up
1.Greeting/Free talk. (TPR)
(To stimulate the atmosphere in class)
2.Say the chant “how many are there?”
(It can help Ss to review the structures “how many…are there?” “there is/are…”)
Step2.Presentation
New words
1.To show a picture with my mother and father and introduce them to the Ss
(Elicit the

2.Show a family tree with pictures.

(Present the basic knowledge to the students.)
3.Guessing—who is she/he?
The others guess the words when some one does the actions.
(Let Ss clear master the meaning and pronunciation of the new words.)
4.Activity1
Have Ss look at the picture in activity 1 on P20 and label Tony’s family.
(Consolidate the words.)
1.show the big picture and elicit the structures:

(Write down the key structure and then practise it with the new words.)
2.Ask and Answer—Activity 6
①To get Ss to introduce their family member to each other.
(Let them learn to cooperate with others)
②Have some students present the dialogue in front of the class.

Do a survey in group. Ask and answer with the target language.
