Day 1

So excited that I am in Barcelona, Spain!  My trip started off great because I got upgraded to First Class…and by a lady…the reason why I have to point this out is that most of the time it is the ladies at the check-in counter who give me a hard time by charging me the whole amount for overweight luggage or giving me bad seats, so when this time the lady upgraded me, I was so surprised…although, the plane was a bit old, I still fully appreciated that I was more comfortable then most…

I had to change planes at Frankfurt and had a 3hr layover…I enjoyed it so much since I have never been to Germany either and knowing that Germany is well known for it’s designs in lifestyle items, I made a point to purchase some things.  Then with my remaining time, I set out to find a German restaurant in the airport.  And with my luck again, I found an excellent one…why was finding one so important you ask? 

Well, for those of you that didn’t know, I LOVE to eat!  And I love all kinds of sausages…as well as German veal snitzels…and since I couldn’t choose between the two, I got both!!!  HAHA!!  But in the kid portions…basically, I ordered two kid meals…YUMMY!!!  I should have taken pictures….forgot….

I chose to leave earlier than the other actors so I could have enough time to get over jetlag and study my lines.  This project has been very tough on me since I have so much dialogue so I have to work extra harder than everyone else…I don’t mind since hard work pays off in the end…

The hotel I am staying in is brand new and comfortable but 20 minutes from the city since most movie and TV productions are always trying to save money in any way they can.  I’m just grateful that it is clean, has a refrigerator, and WIRELESS INTERNET!!!

First night I didn’t sleep too well due to the time differences, got up really early…the hotel’s breakfast is so good…I’m so afraid that I will put on more weight here so I have to control my temptation…and the coffee is so good as well…I rarely drink coffee since I enjoy tea more in China, but I grew up on coffee in the States so am kind of  picky with my coffee...FYI, Starbucks does not have good coffee…this regular hotel coffee is 5 times better….

After resting a bit after breakfast by unpacking, I went to the gym and worked out for an hour…although the gym is very small and I rather be outside exercising, the treadmill has a stand where I can put my script, so I ended up memorizing some lines while running…talk about no pain, no gain…after that I went to buy a phone card and groceries…

It was a very interesting trying to buy a phone card…I assumed that people who worked in stores spoke a little English, but no…I was wrong, most everyone here do not speak English at all…so you can imagine the difficulty in trying to communicate…in the past I have had experiences where I could not speak the language, usually with food it is easy, I just act out the animal…but trying to ask about how many minutes the card gives, whether I can call international, etc. was impossible…I ended up having to call the hotel and tell them what I want and have the hotel speak to the salesgirl…but after hanging up the phone we ended up having to communicate more so we ended up talking to each other through a translator website from the internet…it was quite a funny experience!

After that I had a wonderful time grocery shopping and looking at all the different kind of food, sauces, spices, etc…I just love FOOD!  Ended up buying some of the famous Spanish ham…also I bought some Harvati cheese, avocados, fruit, drinks…

And been reading about Barcelona, studying Spanish, and on the computer doing some work since…stay tuned for more!!

    很开心我能来到西班牙，巴塞罗那！一是之前从未来过，再就是第一天就交上好运——我被安排到头等舱，还是一位小姐帮我安排的！我这么说主要是在以往的经历中女生常常会给我造些小麻烦，比如我带的行李多超出很少重量也要算；登记口的小姐不是态度很不友好，就是直接给我分到不好的座位，唉，漂亮女生有时会有更多麻烦。所以这次太惊讶了……尽管飞机有点旧，心情却是非常愉快。

    转机是在德国法兰克福机场，虽然等了3、4个小时，但因为之前我从未到过德国而且又知道德国在生活用品方面的设计很有名，所以暗下决心——一定要利用这段时间淘些好东东！（据安雅说：后来她买了防水包包，可以装iphone等，还有一种贴身的放钱的包包，可以放到衣服下面。）后来我又跑到机场里的一家德国餐厅，没想到幸运女神再次降临，是家相当不错的美食餐厅哦！也许你会问为什么找到一家好餐厅对我这么重要？那是你们不知道，我是一个“美食家”！我喜爱德国的各种香肠，还有veal snitzels，它们简直太美味了，以至于让我无从选择，所以干脆全部都要！！不要被吓到啊，我只是叫了两份儿童套餐而已。呀！！应该拍下照片的……忘记了……

    为了有充足时间来熟悉剧本，调整到最佳状态，我比其他演员出发的稍早了些。这个剧本对我来说有一定难度，大段的台词（因为国语不太灵光），所以需要比其他人付出更多的努力，但是只要能劳有所获，辛苦点又算什么

    我居住的旅馆很新，也很舒适，就是离市中心很远，有20分钟车程（大多数影视剧组都要尽可能节约开支的，呵呵，可以理解）。不管怎样，里面很干净，我十分满意，更开心的是，房内还有一个冰箱和无线上网设备！

    第一个晚上因为时差的关系，我没有睡得很踏实，第二天早早就起床了。这家旅馆的早餐很美味，（我担心自己要长胖了，得赶紧控制自己的食欲……）。这里的咖啡也很棒，虽然在中国的时候我更喜欢喝茶，但毕竟我是在美国喝咖啡长大的，所以我对咖啡也很挑剔。个人观点，星巴克的咖啡不怎么好喝，这里的咖啡要比那的好到不止5倍……

   吃完早餐小休后我就去健身房运动了一个小时。尽管健身房比较小，相比之下我更愿意去户外锻炼。但跑步机上有个架子，上面可以放我的剧本，这样我就可以一边跑步一边背台词了……正所谓没有付出就没有收获。运动结束，我去买了电话卡和其它生活用品……

    试图购买电话卡又是一段有趣的经历……我原以为商店里的工作人员一定会说一点英语，但事实上我错了，这里所有人几乎一点英语也不会说，所以你可以想象到跟他们交流是多么的困难。以往也碰到过这种状况，通常是在餐厅，无法沟通，但至少我可以扮成动物的模样做动作让他们明白我想要的……但这次是电话卡！我至少要了解到电话卡能打多长时间，能否打国际长途等重要信息，后来我想到打电话给饭店（前台服务员懂英文），求助他们把我的问题翻译给售货员。但是当他们电话沟通完，我又发现了新问题……你肯定想象不到最后我们还是借助互联网上的翻译软件完成购物的……真是有趣的经历！

   买完电话卡我又去逛超市。真是太令人兴奋了，我很喜欢看各种食物：酱啊，粉啊，香料什么的。最后我买了著名的西班牙火腿和夏威夷起司，还有鳄梨、水果和饮料……

    现在我正在看机场买的介绍巴塞罗那的书和学习西班牙语的辞典，也在电脑上做些功课，因为我还要在这里呆一段时间，要争取调整到最好！！
