Thanks

(2007-07-31 23:46:00)

Thanks so much for those who have been writing and

leaving supportive comments.  It really means a lot to

me.  I’m sorry I haven’t gotten organized and into the

habit of writing more often.  I hope to eventually

write every other day or at least once a week. Also,

I have to ask someone to help me read all the

Chinese comments so unless it’s in English, it takes

time for me to know what everyone wrote.  Please

have patience because your support really means a

great deal to me.

A special thank you to the person that has been

translating what I wrote to Chinese.  I hope it’s

right because I can’t read it! J

Also, thanks to my supporter who wrote that

destiny is fair to everyone and to be strong and

believe in myself.  Thanks for the encouragement.

I really need it and it gives me strength.  I do

believe that “God” or “Buddha” is watching over

me and sees that my heart and soul is filled with

so much good intentions. After reaching my goal

with my career, I can then involve myself even

more with charity work.

Well, now for the update.  I just found out that I

got the role for an American TV movie! When I

was in the States, I used to watch re-runs of a TV

series called “Kung Fu” with David Carradine.

he will be the main role and I’m going to get to

have a fight scene with him, which is cool!

Although this project is not huge, I am proud of

myself because I had to audition twice for it.

Most of you don’t know, in most Asian films, the

roles are just given out after meeting the director.

With foreign projects, there are always auditions

where you are given a scene or two, and act it

out right there as they film you. If the director and

producer is not there, the tape gets sent to them.

And if they like you, you are called back for a

second audition where they meet you in person

and you act again in front of them. This was the

case for this project. There is a funny story to

tell about my second audition.  After I acted

out the two scenes in front of 5 people including

the director, I felt I did well and it was confirmed

by the director. Just as I was about to breathe a

sigh of relief, the director tells me that although

the role of my character speaks English, I spoke

too fluent, so he wanted me to do it over but

with a Chinese accent over my English. I

immediately started to panic inside, because I

had not prepared an accent. They gave me a

moment to gather my thoughts in which I

thought of all the movies I saw of Chinese people

speaking in broken English, or “FOBBY”

English as Asian Americans call.(FOB stands

for Fresh Off Boat) and I did the best I could.

After I was done, the director said, “That’s

exactly what I want”, so I walked out of there

happy, until I saw all the girls waiting to audition.

Of course, in the past getting parts without even

meeting the director because I was signed to a

powerful company was great, but it feels so

much more rewarding when you went through the

whole experience of preparing, being nervous,

auditioning, and waiting to hear that the news.

And when they tell you got the role, you know

you got it because you worked hard and was the

best out of everyone.

So I will be in Hengdian end of September and

the beginning of October to shoot this movie!

Another update: I recently took new photos so

will be posting it up soon!
