                            To become a good speaker

Good morning ladies and gentleman.

I am glad to have the opportunity of making this speech here.

I think everybody know the American president Obama. It is said that it is his wonderful speech that lead him to the top of the America. So that is topic I want to talk about, how to become a good speaker.

The first thing I would like to share with you is the importance of communication skills. Somebody has said, “Without effective delivery, a speech of the highest mental capacity can be held in no esteem. With effective delivery, even one with moderate abilities may surpass those of the highest talent.”

Many people think giving a talk is easy, just tell them what you’re going to say. Say it. Tell them what you said.

But how to make your speech better ?

In my opinion, the main thing is to make your speech simple and clear! Speaking is not like writing. So don’t use complex sentences, don’t use ambiguous words, just simple words and never ramble.

Besides, try to play your voice with pitch and tempo. To amplify a point, you have to slow down, to speak loudly, to pause in the right places. Make sure that everybody understand what you say .Stop to think if you need to, because silence is a tool (to draw attention).

And also there is some Visual Skills. While you are talking, you can use your eyes, your body, your hands and face to make your speech lively.

For your eyes, look forward at audience or look at people’s faces, but don’t look in corner.

Gesture complements talk. It should come naturally, without thinking. Remember not to put them in pocket.

And for face, show emotion!

The last one is passion. Passion is really necessary. If you’re not passionate, why should we care?

Over prepare every talk, be passionate, be confident.

Everyone will enjoy your speech.
