2.What is money?
When asked, "what is money?" different people have different answers. Some think that money is the source of happiness, while some regard it as the root of all evil.
As far as I am concerned, they both have their reasons. Those who consider money the source of happiness' argue that money means massive houses, beautiful clothes, or luxurious cars, and can enable them and their families to live comfortably. They even believe that money can bring power, friendship, and love But because of the temptation of money, there are many people who become thieves, robbers, or murderers. It is also out of the greed for money that some officials forget their duty and cause enormous losses to the country, so some people think that money is the root of all evil and suggest that we keep away from money.(110)
In fact, money is merely a medium of exchange It may bring you happiness; it may lead you to a life of crime. Whether it is good or bad depends on how it is used.

3. Why pursue an MBA?
In recent years, more and more people are beginning to realize the importance of the MBA program, and there has been a sharp increase in the number of people applying to study for it.
As for me(So far as I am concerned), my profession calls for a further study. I'm especially interested in pursuing business education, because my bachelor degree is not in business. In the company, the more I work, the more I want to learn. I've talked to my boss and colleagues and they all feel that getting an MBA will improve my business and technical knowledge and thus increase my performance and promotional opportunities. In addition, my employer will pay part of the tuition fee.
Though I understand that there probably won't be a big jump in salary when I complete my degree, I am sure in the long term it will pay off. So for me pursuing for an MBA is my primary task now.

4. Report:
To: Mr. John Ligh
From: Li Ming
Subject: the feasibility of running fast-food restaurants in China
Date: Nov. 11th, 2001

Fast food is quite popular in China. According to the survey, basically there are three reasons for its popularity Firstly, most people think that it is convenient and saves time. In a fast food restaurant, after ordering his food, one can get it immediately, while in a traditional Chinese restaurant, he may have to wait at least 20 minutes to have the first course, Thus nearly 90 percent of people interviewed would prefer fast food whey they are in a hurry. Secondly, the clean and comfortable environment where fast food is served also has great appeal to customers. Thirdly, 85 percent of people believe that they may get good service and that the quality of food is guaranteed.
However, about 45% of people mention a point in the questionnaires that in terms of nutrition, fast food supplied in most restaurants is far from satisfactory, for it does not contain a balanced diet
Form the statistics of the survey, it can be concluded that nutrition of the fast food should be paid enough attention to while setting up a fast-food restaurant.
5. Economy in the 21st Century
it is generally believed that the 21st century will be a new age of science and technology, which will surely bring us a high-speed development of economy.
Yet according to some people, the advanced technology may also bring us some problems, especially in economy. Their reason for holding this idea lies in several aspects. First of all, it may make the rich countries richer, while poor countries poorer. Because most advanced technology is dominated by developed countries the development of technology can only help develop those countries rather than the whole world. Secondly, many of modern devices people use will increasingly eliminate man's needs for physical contacts. It is hard to imagine the would the world be, if there were no electric power and every computer broke down.
As far as we are concerned, the 21st century symbolizes a challenge, which forces us to study hard. Only in this way can we make full preparations to meet all the coming challenge.

Fast-food is now very popular in China, especially in the big cities. Because it is convenient, simple and cheap.
However, there are also problems found in the newly made investigation. Some customer claims fast-food is lack of nutrition, instead, it contins too much fat. Other problems include less efficiency in traditional fast-food restaurants compared with western ones, same taste among different restaurants, etc.
So, in order to set up a foreign fast-food restaurant successfully, at least three points must be considered. One is nutrition of food. If you market your restaurant with this thrength, it will be greatly appealing to the morden health-food-seekers. The second is the taste. Chinese citizens know too well about McDonald's and KFC, new-comer in fast-food industry is expected to bring some fresh flavors and different designs, The last is the service. Although it is minor concem of fast-food restaurants in general. More and more white-collars are looking for some place to dine both fast and comfortably.

Fast-food is genenal popular in China today, and many Chinese people have fast-food as their dinner or supper. Fast-food is popular because that it is a convenient and simple food, and many people can afford it and can buy it every place.
Of coarse, fast-food has also some problems. In my searching, some people who were searched said that fast-food had some advantage. For example, there were a little nourishment in the fast-food, and that some people ate fast-food usually was harmful for their healthy.
Therefore, I think that not only the government but also the fast-food restaurant should take some measures to improve the quality of the fast-food.
