日期写法宜遵从下列规则：

1)年份必须完全写明，不可用"04代替2004;

2)月份必须用英文拼出或采用公认的简写，即 January (Jan.),February (Feb.),March(Mar.),April(Apr.),May,June,July,August (Aug.),September

(Sept.),October(Oct.),November(Nov.),December(Dec.);

3)日期可用序数词，如：1st,2nd,3rd,4th,...；也可用基数词，如：1，2，3，4，...。但美式大多采用后者；

4)在年份和月日之间必须用逗号隔开；

5)日期不可全部采用如7.12.2003或7/12/2003的阿拉伯数字书写，否则会引起误解。因为英美在这方面的习惯用法不同。按美国人习惯，上述日期为2003年7月12日，而按英国习惯则是2003年12月7日。

 

4. 英语日期的读法：

 

1）日期的写法可以采用基数词和序数词两种形式。例如： March 1也可以写成March 1st；May 29也可以写成May 29th。但是，日期的读法只能用序数词的形式。例如：

    October 31（October 31st）读作October（the）thirty-first

August 26（August 26th）读作August（the）twenty-sixth

 

2）年份  前用in

     没有“0”可以看作两个十位数来读。例如：

             1865    eighteen sixty-five

             1998    nineteen ninety-eight

     三个0,直接读作thousand

             2000    two thousand

     二个0在中间，读作thousand and

             2008    two thousand and eight（或twenty O eight）

             1008    one thousand and eight（或ten O eight）

     二个0在后面，把前面两个读作十位数，加hundred

            1900      ninteen hundred

     第三个数字为0，把0读作O[u]，oh

            1809      eighteen O nine

     第二个数字为0，两种读法

            2015      twenty fifteen

                       two hundred and fifteen

            1090      one hundred and ninety(一般只读这种)

     不足4位，直接读数字或按基数来读

             605      AD six oh five     six hundred and five

 

 

5.英语中“世纪”可以用定冠词加序数词加世纪century表示，也可以用定冠词加百位进数加\'s表示

          the sixth（6th）century 公元六世纪

          the eighteenth（18th）century 公元十八世纪

          the 1900\'s 二十世纪

          the 1600\'s 十七世纪

  这里，用百位数整数表示的世纪比这一百位阿拉伯数字本身多一个世纪。

         in the 1930\'s（in the nineteen thirties 或in the thirties of the twentieth century）

          在二十世纪三十年代

6. What is the time?

1）可以直接按照表示时间的数字来读。例如：

      10：56     ten fifty six

       8：30      eight thirty  

2）正点后的前半小时，通常说几点“过”（past）几分，美语用after,例如：

      9：25       twenty-five past nine     twenty-five  after nine

      2：16       sixteen past two            sixteen after two

3）正点后的后半小时，通常说几点“差”（to）几分，美语用of。此时，所说的“几点”指的是“正点”后的下一个“正点”。例如：

      10：55     five to eleven     five of eleven

       8：40      twenty to nine      twenty of nine

4）英语中的15分钟也可以说成“一刻钟”（a quarter）。例如：

      4：15       a quarter past four

      7：45       a quarter to eight

      45分钟      three quarters

5）整点

     7：00 seveno’clock a．m．／p．m．

序数词

是在基数词后加-th，但有几种特殊情况，可按下面规律来记：

1、2、3单独记（即first, second, third），

8后少t，9少e（即：eighth, ninth），

5、12变ve为fth（即fifth, twelfth），

整十数变y为ie再加th（如twentieth），二位以上只将个数变序数词（如thirty-second）。

读时前加the.
